Rep. Collin Peterson, D-Minn., has co-sponsored a bill to prevent the EPA from regulating greenhouse gases as pollutants under the Clean Air Act. Peterson, chairman of the House Agriculture Committee which has some jurisdiction on climate issues explained his thinking in a statement:

Grab some popcorn!
“I have no confidence that the EPA can regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act without doing serious damage to our economy.”
That is their intent.
Amazing how a real threat to one’s seat in Congress tends to concentrate and sharpen the mind.
Love that.
One would think that Congress would be outraged by ceding its authority on such matters to the Executive Branch. Why bother passing laws if the executive branch is going to rule by fiat.
My question is what the hell were the JOTUSSC thinking when they ruled that the EPA could regulate CO2 as a pollutant.
I assume the conservative take would be that only congress could determine what is pollution and what is not. For better or worse, I agree that the courts should not be involved.
One way to boost the economy and create jobs fast would be to defund and eliminate the EPA.
100% agree, and the Endangered Species Act needs to go, also.
Time for a clean sweep. My rule is this. The higher government unemployment rises the private sector unemployment will decrease. We would have 0 private unemployment when government unemployment hits 80%.
“One way to boost the economy and create jobs fast would be to defund and eliminate the EPA.”
And while they are at it trash the Endangered Species Act.
My thoughts exactly.
I have no confidence in this gummit!
