Senators Warned of Terrorist Attack on U.S. by July

WASHINGTON — America’s top intelligence official told lawmakers on Tuesday that he was “highly certain” that Al Qaeda or one of its affiliates would attempt a large-scale attack on American soil within the next six months. The assessment by Dennis C. Blair, the director of national intelligence, was much starker than his view last year, when he emphasized the considerable progress in the campaign to debilitate Al Qaeda and said that the global economic meltdown, rather than the prospect of a major terrorist attack, was the “primary near-term security concern of the United States.”

Citing a recent wave of terrorist plots, including the failed Dec. 25 attempt to blow up an airliner as it approached Detroit, Mr. Blair and other intelligence officials told a Senate panel that Al Qaeda had adjusted its tactics to more effectively strike American targets domestically and abroad.

“The biggest threat is not so much that we face an attack like 9/11,” said Leon E. Panetta, the C.I.A. director. “It is that Al Qaeda is adapting its methods in ways that oftentimes make it difficult to detect.”

I do hope he comes back and tries to explain himself... I’m not holding my breath though. I tipped off the mods, but he’s still active. His past posts aren’t so obvious — I think he forgot where he was for a moment! LOL

Let’s see, gifted orater, messianic figure with dillusions of diety? Check
Surrounded by a cult of personality? Check
Controls most parts of government and media? Check
Economic crisis with no end in sight? Check
Hmmm, what else do we need? Oh, that’s right, a common enemy to coalesce the masses. Terrorist attack? That works. And the sheeple sign over their liberties and ask the government to save them.

Sound familiar? Germany 1936.

Okay, the original reason for 9/11 was to provoke an armed response from the US that would outrage “pious” Muslims. They were supposed to rise up and overthrow secular or pro-Western governments so that Al Qaeda could reinstate the Caliphate.

It didn't work so well.

So what the heck do they want from this attack? Provoking an armed response from the US has been demonstrated to be a bad idea. Hurting the US gets ‘em nothing but a little satisfaction.

It kinda makes you wonder what's up. (Dons tin-foil hat.) So what if they had a Muslim mole in place to take dictatorial power of the US in the aftermath of a major “man-made disaster?” Hmmmm.

Nothing to see here. Move along. (Removes tin-foil hat.)

IMHO, they have to get health care reform passed first, that is the only way they can really track us all.

Better than I would do. I’m not so sure I’d be generous with someone I didn’t know coming begging with their hand out.

After living in a welfare community and watching the welfare deadbeats get free clothing at give-aways, and then turn around and garage sale it, I don’t trust anyone.

I will help family. I can help friends to a point. Everyone else is on their own.

Funny thing is, the people I’d most likely and willing to help, are already pretty well prepared themselves.

Some things take time.

Personally, I prefer if the mods give us a few hours to play with the troll before zotting them. I always enjoy the FReeper comments to the troll before he gets it.

After all, even my baby had to be stamped with it from birth now. Mark of the Beast.

Love those sarcastic remarks! Especially when I know what context they are in. Guess I’ll stock up on some duct tape and invest in some companies that manufacture it. I could make a killing! (bad pun, yeah, I know, lol!)

I have no confidence in the fools and communists in charge, but every confidence in our soldiers and most LEOs.

I hope the latter have their eyes open for the Super Bowl.

Could it be that he knows Israel is about to attack Iran and that would trigger response attacks?

May be also why moving defensive missles around the region?
