Live in Illinois...while I voted for Hughes, I have to say I saw very little in campaigning from his camp...where was any support from conservative groups? I don’t think most voters (the few that there were) knew anything about him.
To: mwl8787
Did NRO mention that he’s a gun-grabger, getting an “F” from the NRA?
Or that he opposed the Iraq surge?
Or that he supports McStain-Feingold?
With “Republicans” like these......

No he wont. Hell lose and we will help him lose.If Kirk emerges from the primary, you'd prefer the Democrat serve the next six years in the Senate? Are you insane?

If Cheryl Jackson doesn’t get the nomination, do you think many IL Blacks will stay home in November? No Obama on the ballot and no Black on the Governor or Senator ballots.
I think a lot of Blacks will stay home on Election Day.

If the Adam, Brady and Proft voters are a higher percentage than the winner, that sends a message. Next time, we all need to get behind a single candidate.”-—
Welcome to voting age. We’ve been doing this in every IL election for decades.
Your logic is as flawed as Nader claiming Gore cost him the election. That’s not how it works. You get behind the guy with the best chance to win who is acceptably Conservative.
People just never learn - the Brady-cude voters, and now Proft, who NEVER HAD A CHANCE, EVER.

Most definitely. I've heard that Proft and Adam are both good men. I'm afraid I don't know that much about Brady, but, yes, why are all these three running? Why not get their heads together and choose just one? Adam had that wonderful endorsement from Lech Walesa. And from the Bella star as well. And he's got the higher numbers of the three currently. I wish Proft and Brady would have pulled out and asked their voters to support Adam. This is tough to watch.

Suit yourself. Seems a lot of internal battle anger. I am confident that various factions will coalesce around the GOP nominees for Governor and US Senate - regardless of who they are. If not, so be it.
As I stated, National Review has demonstrated that Kirk is NOT a Dede Scozzafava - he is more like Scott Brown, which is good enough for me in dark blue Illinois.

Yep..the conservative vote was too split apart. One radio guy said the tea partiers will vote for Andrejewski, the young will vote for Proft..he listed a few more “categories” that I cant remember. Now we are screwed with a “less than conservative” nominee.

Proft was in the race to help Proft plain and simple..

That's the difference. You actually reside and vote in Illinois, whereas several of the posters on this thread do not. I am one of them, so I take caution not to criticize you or Keven Davis or the others for your votes and reasons for your votes. I am here to watch the results and to get a feel for the general election.

Cheryl Jackson (25%) didn’t exactly get them out to the polls today. November will be no better.

I live in an area with alot of Polish. Took my time voting, hung around awhile and talked to the election judges. It was not very busy at the polling place, no Polish voters came in while I was there. I know from talking with people in the neighborhood that they are politically conservative. Just don’t know if they are into the political process as much as they could be.
