WASHINGTON Rep. John Murtha has been hospitalized in intensive care stemming from complications related to gallbladder surgery.
Spokesman Matt Mazonkey says the 77-year-old Pennsylvania congressman underwent scheduled surgery last week and is currently at Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington.
Murtha was also hospitalized in December with gallbladder problems.
The 19-term Democrat was the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress. He leads the powerful House Appropriations subcommittee on defense spending.

Imagine what would be said by the other side if Rush Limbaugh or George Bush were in the hospital - especially if Rahm was throwing out the 4 letter words.............
Wow that thought just fried my brain!

Remember how breathless the libs were when Rush went into the hospital in Hawaii?
I’m sure the ‘ignorant rednecks’(his words) in murthas district hope for a full recovery.Who else could scoop up all that tax money to throw around?

I just hope the priest gets there in time to hear his last confession and give him absolution.
Then may he and Teddy have a drink together...wherever they are.

I just dont wish him ill, or death. God will give him what he has earned and deserved.I agree. I pray that God give John Murtha what he has earned and deserves.

Forget about it. Guys like him go on forever. God’s cruel joke on the rest of us.

That speaks volumes about the electorate in his district.

It could go one of two ways. I am note sure on Pa law.
Being a house seat, there is no appointment of a replacement. So an election will occur. When depends on Pa law.
There could be a special election to fill the seat until the Nov. elections. Or there could be a vacancy until Nov.

If he doesn’t live until election, the seat will most likely go to the R. That’s all I’m going to say on this.
To: Prokopton
Exactly.
My wife always tells me that in the end, most people get what they deserve. And that in the grand scheme, life is pretty fair.

As far as that goes, I have been there. Bitterness and hate are VERY expensive emotions and the sooner released the better for oneself.
In this case, the emotions about the ex-Marine is disgust and revulsion — and that can only be fixed by removal of the object thereof.

Prayers to his family and friends.
I’d chalk his seat going to the R this election, so mark it as a pickup.
