The American Spectator blew the cover off this in last months issue. Try spectator.org and check their archives.

I wish Rush or Glenn Beck would get on this.

Looks like we better start looking for good people to fill SOS positions very aggressively.

Direct knowledge or experience... no. All I know is that the SOS project came about after the 2000 Florida election. It would only take a small amount of money and organization by the uber-left to have considerable power in the election process. Look at Ohio with Acorn and Minnesota with Franken. Nevada had some issues too I believe.

ARROGANT SOS (MY TITLE)

In Massachusetts, concern that Secretary of State William Galvin, who had been cited by federal courts for failing to count absentee ballots in earlier elections would withhold certification of upset winner Scott Brown to allow Democrats to salvage the health care effort rattled observers.
However a spokesman for Galvin said he would file the papers "probably on Wednesday." (Feb. 3, 2010).

GRETA WIRE

~snip~

Sen-elect Scott Brown is expected to take his seat in the US Senate next week, this according to a senior Senate GOP aide. The aide said Gov. Deval Patrick, D-MA, has indicated he plans to sign Brown's election certificate next Wednesday (Feb 10), and a swearing-in ceremony would then follow on Friday.
BUT -- the aide cautioned that this all turns on Patrick signing the election certificate, as well as the Secy of the Commonwealth, as both signatures are needed for the Secy of the US Senate to approve the document.

MN
OH
WA

I know in Ohio, SoS Brunner denied counties their own electronic voting rolls prior to the 2008 election. Ohio lost to 0baSoros—by a number approximately equal to what W won in 2004—at which time, the mere calling of the state for 0bama was touted as THE pivotal moment in the election. ACORN, foreign voters running around all over creation in the state and leaving it once the deed was done (out of state and out of country). Brunner is now running for senator to replace Voinovich.

If you look at SoS sites in various states and see what their ‘initiatives’ are, you see that Soros is funding it all, all of it communist, pinko, vote-stealing lies.

This is all very interesting and I think there is a point to the story that is being missed.

Everyone get out their trusty tin foil hat and read on.

Fast forward to 2012. Obama is running for re-election and he is nominated by the Dems. The Dems will "certify" that Obama meets the constitutional requirements to hold the Office of the President. The normal process is that the Secretarys of State of the various states simply accept Nancy Pelosi or some other Dems signature as providing that certification. Having your own people in the position of Secretary of State would rule out any possibility that the "certification" would be challenged with a demand for proof that Obama meets the constitutional requirements. Can you image the flak that would fly if even one Secretary of State asked to see a real Obama birth certificate?

So I would not discount the idea that the Dems want as much insurance as they can get that there will be no problems when they re-nominate The One in 2012. Securing as many Secretary of State positions as possible would certainly be an important element of their overall strategy to re-elect Obama.
