Fear of God & voting: Contrary to popular rhetoric, voting is NEITHER a virtue NOR a commandment. Obeying Gods commandment that forbids putting anyone into power who doesnt rule in the fear of God IS virtuous. Todays Christian voters fear man over God when they worry about wasting their vote and voting the lesser of two evils. The lesser of two evils is always evil, and a vote is never wasted when it is cast in the fear of God: The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? (Ps. 118:6). The modern mainstream medias leftright political paradigm feeds the electorates fear of man, creates a false choice for voters, and provokes the electorate to follow a multitude to do evil (Ex. 23:2) in voting straight party when neither party nor their candidates represent Gods laws and principles. As Jesus said, I will forewarn ye whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after He hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear Him (Luke 12:5).
Fear of God & justice: Above all else, God requires His people to do justice (Deut. 16:20, 2 Chron. 19:6-7). God loves justice (Ps. 11:7, 33:5) and He judges injustice (Isa. 59:15-18). The officers of state expressly exercise the ministry of justice (Rom. 13:4). A political ruler will do justice in proportion to his/her fear of God. Conversely, he/she will do injustice in proportion to his/her fear of man (rejection of God). Therefore, an electorates fear of man is its own punishment...[SNIP]
If judges and rulers keep Gods laws, they share in Gods authority over human life (Ps. 82:6); if they instead pervert justice, theyshall die like men (Ps. 82:7).

This statement contains a false and unbiblical premise. God, not man, puts men in power. This includes wicked men like Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 4, particularly Daniel 4: 35-37) and ultimately Antichrist II Thess 2.
It also contains a blatant self contradiction, when it states “voting is NEITHER a virtue NOR a commandment.” and then asserts that there is a commandment to be obeyed concerning putting men in power by voting.
The position restricts voting to Candidates who are true Christian believers only, since only such can genuinely rule in the fear of God. God alone knows the heart. There are many in the USA who use the Christian faith as a political election tactic. Even the present president nominally claimed to be a Christian. While one may validly question that claim on biblical grounds, erecting a spiritual litmus test for voting has no basis in the word.
The approach taken also ignores biblical context. The statement is made, “The officers of state expressly exercise the ministry of justice (Rom. 13:4). “ This is true, but was spoken by the Apostle of the idol worshiping, murderous Roman Caesars.
Thank you. Now I KNOW I don't have to feel guilty after the McCainiacs on FR trash me for voting for Pastor CHUCK BALDWIN of the Constitution Party (not that I felt guilty to begin w/).
TAKE THAT, McCainbots!!!!!!!
I was going to respond to the posting, but then saw that Verk already responded with everything I would have said, only stated much better than I would have said it.
Total BS. There have been malevolent rulers that feared God, and there have been benevolent rulers that knew no god. David, a man after God's own heart was covetous, an adulterer and a murderer during his rule.
My flesh trembles for fear of You, And I am afraid of Your judgments. - David in Ps 119:120
Keep it up! Vote the way you know God wants you to vote, What happens after that happens. God is in charge. You can ONLY do what He calls you to do and trust Him.
