Revelations of a secret Israeli spy base, which was allegedly set up in Ankara to gather classified information on Iran and Syria, has dragged Tel Aviv into a new spy scandal.

Sources in Turkey's ruling party told Russia's Mignews that Israeli spy agents ran an advanced electronic monitoring station from the Ankara military headquarters to keep tabs on communication networks in Iran and Syria.

According to the sources who were speaking on condition of anonymity, the Signals Intelligence station was solely managed by Israeli intelligence personnel and had become off-limits for members of the Turkish government.

“Press TV” is an Iranian government agit-prop operation.

http://www.presstv.ir/aboutus.aspx
“”Press TV takes revolutionary steps as the first Iranian international news network, broadcasting in English on a round-the-clock basis.

Our global Tehran-based headquarters is staffed with outstanding Iranian and foreign media professionals.

Press TV is extensively networked with bureaus located in the world’s most strategic cities.””

This thread seems to be an attempt to further the cause of the Iranian government by spreading disinformation.

“dragged Tel Aviv into a new spy scandal”

Iranian propaganda tv uses no different sly propaganda as reuters/ap/nyt/etc. You can’t tell the difference.

Jerusalem is the capital of Israel.

I had the same reaction. Good for Israel. Too bad the mission has been compromised.

I would like to think the US has offices like this all over the world. But I suspect closing them down is part of Obama’s world apology tour.

Can't be true.

Turkey would never allow a foreign government to set up a Sigint site on their territory.

Knew a MSG Darr, met him at the 504th MI Group at West Ft. Hood. He had several tours at Sinop. I was in Izmir 79-80 and he was in Sinop. He knew I was assigned to the NATO command, and always had my office phone number. He called me in Naples at AFSOUTH, never told him I was assigned there. Called me in Africa and other assigments.

Miss his phone calls.

+1 on taking this story with a grain of salt. However, I would not discount this story completely. The Turks and Israelis just got through one round of a diplomatic row and have seen deteriorating relations since the new Turkish PM was elected. Wouldn’t shock me if Anarka leaked this info due to souring relations with Israel.

So?

My sentiments exactly. Syria and Iran have been acting the fool for decades. Somebody needs to keep an eye on them. The USA won't do it anymore with Obamalamadingdong in the Whitehouse. Israel is the front line in the war with those two thugocracies. It stands to reason that they would want to spy on Syria and Iran because they are troublemakers. Turkey has a vested interest in there not being a nuke detonation in Israel as well. Where's the "scandal"?
