Vinny Gambini: "I think ... I get ... the point."
Judge Chamberlain Haller:" No, I don't think you do."
Dialogue from "My Cousin Vinny."
Did President Obama get the point? With their ballots, the people of Virginia, New Jersey and Massachusetts have told him in no uncertain terms they are deeply dissatisfied with him and members of Congress.
To them and a solid majority of Americans, "Washington" is shorthand for all that's wrong with America. The people are fed up with the rancor, partisanship, gridlock, empty promises and childishness that have stained their government. They are alarmed by D.C.'s lack of common sense and decency. They are outraged by the rampant corruption: the bribes, the personal enrichment and the quid pro quos. They are offended by the deception and secrecy. They are frightened by the increasing softness of the government's antiterrorism policy, especially the granting of constitutional rights to jihadists bent on America's destruction. They are panicked by how large government has grown, how voracious its spending appetite has become and how deeply in debt their leaders have driven the nation, and how little Congress and the president care. And they absolutely have had it with their chief magistrate's refusal to own the nation's fiscal and economic crises, and to admit to all he and his Democratic cohorts have done to prolong and exacerbate them.
But did Mr. Obama get the point?
On the rhetorical, Clintonian, tell-them-what-they-want-to-hear level, he does. In his State of the Union address, he said he has listened to Americans' grievances "No wonder there's so much cynicism out there. No wonder there's so much disappointment."
His address, however, also made it plain he hasn't heard a word.
Mr. Obama doubled-down his socialist agenda of Obamacare, the cap-and-trade/global warming bill, and job security for unionized government employees and contractors. He promoted further runaway spending, the further punitive use of the tax code and the further abuse of government powers. In calling for more cooperation in Washington, he ratcheted up the combative, partisan rhetoric. He trotted out once more the empty promises of his 2008 campaign. He struck again his pacifist/appeasement tone on national security and terrorism. And he exhibited an almost cruel tone-deafness to the severe beating the recession, high unemployment, widespread job insecurity and the putrefaction of politics have inflicted on the American psyche.
Mr. Obama didn't get the point. Rather, he vowed anew that as long as he and his party hold congressional majorities, he will exploit them to inflict as much socialism and economic and fiscal misery on America as possible.
Election Day is Nov. 2.
Ping to a Republican-American Editorial.
If you want on or off this list, let me know.
“No wonder there’s so much cynicism out there. No wonder there’s so much disappointment.” ~ 0bama
He doesn’t get it. The ‘cynicism’ and ‘disappointment’ are DUE to him, LOL! Jerk.
That IS the point ... a re-cycled, re-branded, re-tread socialist agenda. This marxist isn't going to budge.
On the other hand, if by the word "it", we mean the clown's ability to get hisself re-elected, then yes, the clown absolutely gets "it". As such, the clown will say, do, feel, kill, slam, insult, support, or otherwise "adjust" anyone or anything to get re-elected.
We would be very well served to remember that come November. We also should have learned how this works from the great spinmeister, clintoon.
That's his policy, in a nut shell.
He simply doesn't CARE what the majority of Americans think - he thinks he knows better what is good for us than we do.
King George III thought the same way.
Its a type of thinking which has been uncomfortably common among a whole series of dangerous megalomaniacs in past history and certainly has NO place in the AMERICAN Oval Office.
But then, Mr. Obama probably isn't a natural born American anyway and his puppeteers in Saudi Arabia and George Soros aren't Americans either.
Great, now I’ll have “What’s a ‘yewt’?” stuck in my head all day LOL!
Oh, he gets it
The question is, how much more stupid will America be while this poser stalls, pontificates, dodges and sells them more hope and change?
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
Exactly right! 0bama is stalling and the longer he gets away with it and the longer the American people fall for it, the worse things will get.
You can bet the Czars and other enemies aren’t “stalling” behind the scenes. They’re in high gear.
I think too many people still don’t get it. Obama WANTS to destroy this country that he despises so much. Everything is going according to his and his handlers plans right now.
0bama has been shot up with hate America heroin for decades. Like a true addict, he just keeps needing more. The irony is that once a lethal dose is reached, he’ll have nothing left to feed the addiction, since it’s America that’ll be dead.
Exactly right. While some things have been blocked, his destruction of our way of life continues without pause.
Everyday brings more oppressive manipulating by this Fascist government. America is afraid to do what it has to do to correct the situation, there's no other way, oh well...
Meanwhile, I still receive RNC propaganda and requests for money to "gain back our standing" or yet another "survey" with the same questions we've been answering since '06 and definitely '08. What a joke. I do send the forms back but not with what they hope for, usually a flaming message written with a Sharpie.
I’ll I want is for the little commie fag to get his butt out of my White House.
NO
Next question please.
Like an islamist.
The grandson of a Mau Mau tribe member of Kenya who was caught by the Brits and imprisoned is still clinging to whatever ability he can garner to destroy America.
Sorority Girl (snapping her gum): "What's the good news?"
Detective: "Your dates are here."
Girl: "What's the bad news?"
Detective (watching dozens of zombies shuffle across the lawn towards the sorority): "They're dead."
