First Lady Michelle Obama evinces no concern for the tens of millions of Americans suffering the consequences of her husband's failing economic policies as she is once again seen flaunting her Imelda Marcos taste in ridiculously expensive designer clothers.
Women's Wear Daily reported today that Michelle Obama wore a dress that retails for $1850 to the State of the Union address given by her husband, Barack Obama, on Wednesday night.
Last week, the White House featured as the 'photo of the day' a picture of Michelle Obama wearing a $2763 designer coat with matching dress of unknown cost and $850 custom made designer boots.
During the Obama's $4000 per day Christmas vacation, Michelle Obama was photographed wearing a $635 pair of designer shoes. A recent study of five pairs of designer shoes worn last year by Michelle Obama showed an average price of $700 per pair.
The dress worn by Michelle Obama to the State of the Union was bought by Obama from American designer Isaac Mizrahi, according to a spokeswoman for Mizrahi.
WWD describes the $1850 outfit as a "raisin-colored dress with a knit top and a silk ottoman skirt."

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Michelle and Barack Obama lectured the American people that they should sacrifice their lifestyles for the good of the country.
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Barack Obama was quoted by AFP on May 16, 2008.
Byron York quoted Michelle Obama in the National Review on February 29, 2008, "Dont go into corporate America. You know, become teachers. Work for the community. Be social workers. Be a nurse. Those are the careers that we need, and were encouraging our young people to do that. But if you make that choice, as we did, to move out of the money-making industry into the helping industry, then your salaries respond.
A woman lucky enough to have a job in the Obama's 'helping industry' paying the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour would have to work about 255 hours before taxes to pay for Michelle Obama's State of the Union dress.
An $1800 dollar designer dress on Michelle Obama looks like it came from the Gap or Banana Republic.
Money just cannot hide that caboose.
She looks okay. At least she doesn’t look like she spent the afternoon in a Good Will store, buying sweaters that look three sizes too small on her.
Biggest non issue I can think of at the moment is how much she paid for a dress. I didn’t expect her to get a dress from K-Mart for the State of The Union address and had she done so, that too would have been the subject of discussion here.
I’m much more concerned with what her communist husband is trying to do to our country.
“as a well known fashion designer, I can tell you that making that woman look presentable is one tall order.”
What’s with the big boob belts that she wears???????? Is there something in fashion that says it helps cover a less desirable attribute..
Too early for me. I thought you’d typed $18.50. Even THAT would’ve been overpriced!
I’ve always heard that you should dress for the job you WANT. She really does want to be *The Queen*, huh?!?!
Taxes are for the little people. You know, like Joe the Plumber and Joe Six Pack.
The Obamas remind me of Baby Doc and Michelle Duvalier of Haiti.
Oh THAT!!
You would just die if I told you. Of course I'm held to the strictest confidence...
Oh what the hay! Here's the scoop, poop:
Mrs Obama has acquired a bit of a tummy since discovering a taste for Dom Perignon after George (you know, Soros? Oh the things I could tell you!)gave her a bottle during one of those "tete a tete"s with Bam.
We tried (with a crow-bar and block-and-tackle) to fit her into a girdle but her face swelled hideously and she would pass out due to hypoxia.
The boob belts were a last resort. Mind you, no body was really all that happy, but a little physical therapy to teach her to breath with her diaphragm and she didn't pass out as much.
Yes, it made her chest swell, but some men don't seem to mind that.
1850 dress? Hattie McDaniel or Butterfly?
Sh-hhhhhh
I heard that!
But hey... maybe it takes someone with the skills of a cabinet maker to dress FLOTUS?
sw
Takes lots of material to build a covering for that big a$$
ottoman skirt...
Ottoman? That’s where I rest my feet when I’m sitting on a couch. No we know the real story behind her.
True she sure has a baaaaaddd sense of style.
I’ve seen nicer window curtains.
Hey, I’ve gotten some great stuff at the Goodwill.
