On March 31st, NUMMI, the UAW-represented joint venture between Toyota and General Motors, will be closing its doors in California, throwing another 4,700 United Auto Workers out of work.
With 80% of the UAW members upset with their union, this past Sunday, the Union of Ailing Workplaces (aka UAW) held a membership meeting that turned into a shouting match between rank-and-file members and their union leadership.
At one point, one UAW leader (identified as Javier Contreras) yelled at the crowd, telling them to Shut the f*ck up, you motherf*ckers!
Things got so bad, that UAW leaders had to call the police to restore order.

Looks like all is not rosy between labor bosses and their members.
They think they’re goodfellas.
Beck and others been saying it for awhile now, it’s not the majority of union workers that are giving, and have been, unions a bad rap, it’s the union heads. Them union members wised up and stopped paying dues, you really see the crap hit the fan, much like in this linked video.
Ain't gonna happen. Most union dues are automatically deducted from the paycheck before it ever gets to the employee's hands.
Ahhh... I love the smell of self directed union rage in the morning.
Boeing went to the IAM and said “If you agree not to strike in the next ten years, we will build the 787 here instead of SC”
The IAM told Boeing to F off.
Now there are thousands of jobs moving to SC (NON-Union, in case anybody asks), the local IAM people basically had a GUARANTEED ten year gig if they accepted the offer and agreed not to strike, so if they are left sitting there with their thumbs up their butts I have NO SYMPATHY AT ALL!
I posted it because the vitriol was just shocking. I doubt we’ve seen the last of this kind of thing.
This is just the tip of the iceberg...it's just beginning.

Yep, just like income taxes.
In places where you can drop out of a union, some have it set up to where you will still have to pay dues until your anniversary date of joining comes around.
LOLOLOL!
Yeah, only if you want a JOB in certain parts of the US.
There are absolutely places where union membership is mandatory in certain fields, otherwise, you're unemployed.
The union mob leaders are seeing their piece of heaven slip away whil telling the peasants to go into a hole and be quiet. Gee, I feel so bad they have no jobs—NOT.

the video you referenced makes Katrina look like a romantic walk on the beach!
My prev post is correct. Throw up all the ‘LOLs’ you please, your being ignorant hardly refutes my statement.
Only in states with right to work laws. In other states like New York, not so much.
I’m in a right to work state (Utah); your statement pertains here.
But I spent my whole life in Ohio, and as God in heaven is my witness, there are entire occupations that you cannot even sniff, unless you are in a union.
There are some sneaky ways around it, in fact. Remember our old friend Joe the Plumber? Like many of the trades, in Ohio you must go through the union apprenticeship programs to get your professional credentials. I learned this from a former bf who wanted to be an electrician and quit the program upon learning the union would have claims to some of his earnings FOREVER.
You can work as a plumber or an electrician, but only under/for a credentialed tradesman. You had better not market yourself as a tradesman in the newspaper without certificication or you will get a “visit.” It is for this reason that people sell their skills as handymen and the like.
You are technically correct that in some states you do not have to be a union member to hold a union job. However, you still have to pay to union dues regardless of whether or not you choose to be a member of the union.
