Yes, more important things came out of President Barack Obama's State of the Union address on Wednesday (Jan. 27) night than what his wife, First Lady Michelle Obama, was wearing.
Still, Chris Matthews has the attention-grabbing, out-of-context statement "I forgot he was black" covered.
And the American citizens are full of responses to his 70-minute speech that ranged from everything to the economy to health care, national security to getting rid of the military's "don't ask, don't tell" policy.
So, back to secondary things: What was Michelle wearing? A tasteful aubergine dress with three-quarter-length sleeves from designer Isaac Mizrahi. But not from his Target collection.
Pretty in Plumb
Isaac Mizrahi New York
and I thought she was in solidarity with the Vikings
I dont even know how to pronounce “aubergine.”
I think her advisors hate her. WHY would they suggest a bubble skirt or all those pleats? Just wondering....
I know what you mean....”Obergzhene” is just the more expensive word for “eggplant” LOL ;)
She is a big beast and she is hideous. I don’t care what she wears, the woman is a pig.
I think you’re right. The dress looked much better in the other picture. But...we’re spared the stupid boob belt this time, and that’s an improvement.
It looks like a bridesmaid’s dress, not what a FLOTUS wears to a SOTU.
OK, I think she looks nice. Flame away.
Ah, yes, dark purple; the color reserved for royalty, of course
At least the belt (or waist of the dress) is in the right place! Gosh, that just looks SO much better than many of her other outfits! (going by the photo up top).
I have to say I like this one.
If we hadn’t seen all the other mistakes she has made with her clothes it would be hard to criticize this.
There is at least nothing offensive about the outfit...now what is wearing it is another story...
Actually I did notice that about Biden and Pelosi and I thought someone else other than Michelle. Yes, at the time i was thinking that it’s sad our company leaders are bought out. I agree it was not a coincidence. Scary isn’t it?
The problem is that she IS belted at her waistline. The lady has a very high waist, which she rarely deemphasizes. She needs more tailoring.
I bet she’d look good in a Chanel suit.
Actually...She looks very nice ( for a change).
I agree, she does look nicely dressed in that picture.
