If Scott Brown has kept President Obama up at night, there could be more sleepless nights at the White House thanks to a new poll that ranks the senator-elect as presidential timber.
A Newsmax/Zogby poll shows the Massachusetts Republican within striking range of Obama in a hypothetical presidential matchup.
The poll shows the pair statistically deadlocked if the presidential election were held today.

Seriously now!!!!!! at least Down Town Scotty Brown has more experience then that other guy.,
I think “The Won” is toast.
I think 0bama is going to be very underemployed for a very long time after he quits...
Gawd, if this is the best we can do...
I think the poll actually said: Who would you rather see in a swimsuit in 2012, Scott Brown or Pres. Obama?
No kidding, replace one noob with another noob, no thanks.
Scott Brown is already running for POTUS? Jeez. How about, first, letting Senator Scott Brown be a U.S. Senator for awhile?
Completely believable. It just goes to show you what happens when you have a telegenic candidate who’s NOT as old as dirt, who IS well-educated, articulate, and a more-than-capable debater with charisma. It also helps that he can speak to particular policy issues with clarity, conviction and expertise.
No surprise here.
Let's Roll!
Read my tagline. Scott Brown over Obama, every day of the week.
Oh, just stop it. He’s a Republican, yes, but he’s a RINO as far as we can tell.
Don’t cram Scott Brown down our throats before we’ve even seen him in action.
Sheesh, this is stupid. We’ve given up on electing real representatives, and are now just wanting mystery men.
Well for one thing Scott Brown beat the Kennedy machine in MA helped by volunteers and a lot of good folks in MA. Scott Brown also killed healthcare.
He did not pass McCain-Feingold either. Let’s give him a chance but he is not for amnesty like McCain, Poppy & GW Bush.
No thanks. This is just the press playing their usual games.
Scott Brown is fine as the Senator from Taxachusetts, but we don’t need him as President.
Still, it’s amusing that a guy who hasn’t even gotten into his Senate office yet is already more popular than the POTUS. Even Obama spent a few months in the Senate voting “present” before he started running for the White House.
This is stupid. Nobody really knows Brown well enough to say that.
People are stupid sometimes.
3...2...1... until the Mittbots come around and want Brown as Mitt’s VP. Or for Mitt to run Brown’s campaign.
Good point. The higher the pedestal, the harder the fall.
