While a storm rolling in from the Pacific Ocean is much weaker than most storms that hit last weekend, it can cause some rain and snow-related problems in California and the Southwest into Tuesday.
Traffic slow-downs and flight delays are expected.
The ground is still saturated over much of the region and in some cases hillsides remain unstable.

Rain likely tomorrow.

The next storm is coming inland but will come inland in two pieces. First, a look at the afternoon satellite e picture.
It is really a two barrel storm that will be affecting California through tomorrow night and Arizona late tomorrow night and Wednesday. The first part of the storm is centered just off the Northern California coast. This will move east-northeast this evening and tonight bringing rain and Sierra snow across the northern third of the state. A little rain could move south into parts of the San Joaquin Valley and the Central Coast though amounts will be light.
The second piece of the storm is right behind the first located on the satellite picture around 37N and 137W. This upper level disturbance will move southeast tonight and tomorrow taking aim at southern California.

Orange Countys soggy hillsides and plains will get another half-inch of rain Tuesday when a storm out of the northwest swings through Southern California, starting sometime in the afternoon, says the National Weather Service. This represents a change from an earlier forecast in which NWS said rainfall totals would be in the 0.75 to 1 range. Tuesdays range could push Santa Ana to roughly 6 for January, which is impressive, but far behind the 6.98 recorded during the opening month of 2005. Winds from the incoming storm also will be mild. Last week, the wind gusted to 93 mph in Newport Beach.
But remember, even with 3 extra inches, the drought is not over. yeah right. (And the Russian River flooding)
But this is a desert most of the time....LOL!
RAINFALL TOTAL FOR ABERDEEN WA per MONTH......

Damn, I was gonna play golf, too...but I probably would have needed a long sleeve shirt...it’s been cold as hell and I am pushing the 60 degree rule...if we are gonna have to keep living with only 355 days of sunshine, I might have to rethink this whole living in CA thing...
Up here in the foothills it’s been raining all day.

It’s been raining on the Redwoods most of the day and the wind storm we had yesterday left a mess in our yard and over at the Church. Lots of broken Redwood branches. We are still 1” behind normal in Eureka but the hills are getting good rain and snow about 2,200 feet...
