The next storm is coming inland but will come inland in two pieces. First, a look at the afternoon satellite e picture.
It is really a two barrel storm that will be affecting California through tomorrow night and Arizona late tomorrow night and Wednesday. The first part of the storm is centered just off the Northern California coast. This will move east-northeast this evening and tonight bringing rain and Sierra snow across the northern third of the state. A little rain could move south into parts of the San Joaquin Valley and the Central Coast though amounts will be light.
The second piece of the storm is right behind the first located on the satellite picture around 37N and 137W. This upper level disturbance will move southeast tonight and tomorrow taking aim at southern California.

Orange Countys soggy hillsides and plains will get another half-inch of rain Tuesday when a storm out of the northwest swings through Southern California, starting sometime in the afternoon, says the National Weather Service. This represents a change from an earlier forecast in which NWS said rainfall totals would be in the 0.75 to 1 range. Tuesdays range could push Santa Ana to roughly 6 for January, which is impressive, but far behind the 6.98 recorded during the opening month of 2005. Winds from the incoming storm also will be mild. Last week, the wind gusted to 93 mph in Newport Beach.
