Indiana Senator Evan Bayh is another Democratic incumbent who could find himself in a tough reelection battle this fall. A new Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of likely voters in the state finds that Bayh attracts support from just 44% or 45% of voters when matched against his top potential Republican challengers. Congressman Mike Pence is reportedly considering running against Bayh. At this time, he attracts 47% of the vote while Bayh picks up 44%.

Yippy Kai Yay.
Go Mike Pence
WASHINGTON On Wednesday, $12.7 million was an insurmountable barrier that insulated U.S. Sen. Evan Bayh from any kind of potent Republican challenge to his re-election this year.
By lunchtime Thursday, that mountain of money in Bayhs campaign account was a piffle.
The Supreme Court ruled that corporations can spend as much as they want $10 million, $20 million, even more to campaign for or against a candidate. It made Bayhs once-enviable stash of cash just one of many factoids a Republican might consider in evaluating a campaign instead of the major reason not to run.
Bye-Bye-Bayh. Pause before saying the name.
Evan Bayh just asked Harry Reid if he could take his pro-Obama Health Care and Stimulus Package votes back. /s
Republicans held this Senate seat for 18 years between the two Bayhs.
Senator Mike Pence
I like the sound of that!
If we get rid of Evan Bayh, which member of the next generation of Bayh’s to we have to worry about?
Pence leads Bayh in matchup. Say g’bye to another rodent-held seat.
They’re dropping like flies. :D
Pow! Pence will let Evan know what Birch felt like in 1980.
Is that 49 Senate seats now?
Evan Bayh is trailing? Just a few years ago, this was unthinkable in Indiana. I expect that Pence will make a decision sooner rather than later.
My order (in order of likelyhood to flip, unless I'm forgetting someone):
ND 42 Hoeven
DE 43 Castle
AR 44 (field)
NV 45 (filed)
CO 46 Norton
PA 47 Toomey
IN 48 Pence
No executive experience, but he has been a talk show host and apparently learns from his mistakes. For instance, after proposing “U-Turn Amnesty” (requires illegal aliens to go back to their home countries and apply, but puts them in the front of the line when they return), he has signed on with the majority which want real enforcement first before any such new gimmicks are discussed.
Damn dude!
In 1980 Republicans beat 9 incumbent rat Senators. Only 12 since 1980 including the unelected Jean Carnahan. It’s a long time coming for rat senate incumbents to have a bad year.
Come on. If Speaker ten years down the road (maybe) is the only consideration, he should definitely go for the Senate.
NY Gillibrand
IL Open
CA Boxer
That makes it 51 GOP seats.
It is possible.
Washinton and Wiscosin could also become “in play”
