An Arizona man and his two horses are seriously injured after the man's out-of-control stage coach tore through the streets of Mesa Fire, Ariz., MyFoxPhoenix.com reported.
Dave Johnson of Mesa Fire told the site that a 75-year-old man hitched four horses to a carriage and was taking a ride when a barking dog spooked the horses, MyFoxPhoenix.com reported.
The front two horses began galloping, dragging the two horses in the rear along with the stage coach for a distance of 75 feet, the site reported.

Ban all stage coaches!
These kids today! They git a fancy, new stagecoach and the first thing they do is go careening down the main street, acting like a band of Injuns is hot on their tail. Well, the Shurff’ll have a thing or two to tell that young man and his parents, an’ he’ll have a hickory stick to look forward to, once the Doc is done with him.
Ban woofs....
Good, funny comment.
I’ve seen some of them new fangled horseless carriages over in Dallas. Noisy thangs. Knowed a man in Santa Fe that got him a by-see-cal. Funny looking thang too. Can’t ride it in the mud or haul anything.

Stage Coach Robbers Try New Tactics
Yes, unusual for today. But, a not an unusual, but unwelcome problem in great-grandpa’s day.
“My Fox Phoenix”
3x fast...
We have carriages all over the place here in St Augustine, Florida and every so often some nut goes speeding along and slams into the back of one (not with good results).
The horses are generally unflappable, but things do happen.
Our biggest enemy is the PETA-eco freak brigade, which believes the horses are being “abused” by working. If these horses didn’t work, they would have been sold to the Mexican slaughterhouses long ago. Work is what keeps horses around, and in any case, our horses are treated like 4-legged gods, have kids hanging all over them at every stop, and are very happy.
It was probably trying to avoid all those crazy Chariot drivers! ... Crazy I tell ya! Crazy!
My grand father knew these. My great grandmother knew what it was like to live with out electricity, running water, television, radio, internet, cars, airplanes. She came across the Red River into Texas in a covered wagon! She saw all of the modern conveniences we take for granted come to pass with the exception of the phone and electricity. I knew her as a child.
At lease his shotgun didnt go off and kill someone.
Yes, it’s not too many generations off for many of us. My grandpa farmed with horses up into the mid to late 50’s. He used horses for nearly every chore and a wide variety of hitches too. Unfortunately, much of this know-how is lost or only known by very few.
“A motorcycle driver was also injured when he had to abandon his motorcycle in a frantic effort to avoid the out-of-control stage coach.”
I guess his motorcycle could not outrun the out-of-control strage coach.

LOL, What’ll they think of next- prob’ly some kinda machine that can FLY!
;)
There was a terrible horse carriage accident up in Missouri quite a few years ago. Oe teen killed in a runaway wagon.
We had a close friend killed by a runaway team about twenty five years ago, and he knew how to handle horses.
The driver was probably injured because he wasnt wearing his seatbelt. The air bags probably didnt inflate either. A federal stagecoach recall will be in order to improve the air bags, and to interlock the seatbelt with the reins so the horses wont go if the belt is not fastened.
