WASHINGTON (Dow Jones)--U.S. President Barack Obama used his weekly radio address on Saturday to assail a Supreme Court ruling this week clearing the way for corporations to spend freely on political advertisements, calling it a big victory for special interests and "devastating to the public interest." He added that his administration is working with Congress to develop a bipartisan legislative solution to override the ruling.
"The last thing we need to do is hand more influence to the lobbyists in Washington, or more power to the special interests to tip the outcome of elections," Obama said in his address.

What does he hope to accomplish by criticizing a Supreme Court decision over which he has no control?

What does he hope to accomplish by criticizing a Supreme Court decision over which he has no control? After the failed referendum on his policies in Massachusetts, he is trying to remake himself as a populist. It's also why he is railing against the banks.
The irony is that this would-be populist is as close to a power hungry dictator as we have ever seen.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but the only way to overrule this SCOTUS decision is to amend the Constitution, right? Good luck with that, Dear Leader.

What does he hope to accomplish by criticizing a Supreme Court decision over which he has no control? My guess is that he is trying to improve his approval ratings, which I doubt will work.

0bama’s base is very angry over the ruling so he is jumping on this issue now to get them to say nice things about him again. Testify!
If 0bama doesn’t like it, we know, it’s a very good thing!

For a President and Congress to over rule the Supreme Court, isn't that unprecedented ?

What does he hope to accomplish by criticizing a Supreme Court decision over which he has no control?Don't care what Comrade Hussein hopes to accomplish, but I do hope he irritates some of the justices enough that they look into his lack of Natural Born status.

I am open to the the idea that 0bama is on drugs.
How does he come up with this stuff?
There is no human on this planet, who handed more “influence to the lobbyists in Washington” , or gave “more power to the special interests to tip the outcome of elections” than 0bama did in 2008 and throughout 2009.

We will never know how much foreign money 0bama raked in, however, the media can give you the exact amount that Palin spent on clothes during her campaign.

Hmm. I wonder who would be willing to reach across the aisle to help craft a bipartisan solution to override the ruling.

Nope. The Congress (with the signature of the President), can set the jurisdiction for the different parts of the Judiciary. IIRC this is what happened the first time SCOTUS started ruling on how WOT detainees were being handled. If not then (doing so may have been an amendment that never made it into the final law), I do remember reading that it had been done before.
The Congress and the President can also adjust the size of the court. Last time it was tried was with FDR's "court packing" attempt in the mid-1930s. Between public outcry and "the switch in time that saved nine" FDR backed away ... pretty bloodied (not that it matter when the 1940 election rolled around).
Given the arrogance of Obama, Pelosi and Reid, I could really see them trying that sort of thing. They'd get beat like a red-headed stepchild if they tried, but if ObamaCare is any indication they don't seem to have the basic common sense to be aware of the consequences and repercussions of their actions.
