A family member of mine in her 70's who's never voted Republican voted for Brown.
As an evangelical I would like to congratulate American Catholics, especially those who voted for Brown last Tuesday or otherwise prayed or helped, for shaking off the ghost of Kennedy past.
Chinese have a saying: (fu bu guo san dai)
Literally: Wealth does not pass three generations
Meaning: It’s rare the wealth of a family can last for three generation (the 2nd may see the value of hard work, the 3rd, forget it)
Explanation: In business, the first generation works extremely hard, so that the second generation reaps the benefits. By the time the third generation arrives, the wealth is squandered.
Similar here. Joseph Kennedy, JFK’s father was a tough old bird and made a fortune. JFK had many worthy qualities (including being anti-communist, incredibly charismatic, and a tax cutter). The next generations had nothing (and Teddy was a monster in my opinion, both personally and politicially).
I wonder what Mary Jo had to say to Teddy. Oh, I forgot there not in the same place.
It is absolutely clear in the scriptures that within the church you are to judge. In the book of 1 Corinthians chapter 5 ....
1It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and immorality of such a kind as does not exist even among the Gentiles, that someone has his father’s wife. 2 You have become arrogant and have not mourned instead, so that the one who had done this deed would be removed from your midst.
...I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; 10 I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. 11 But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. 12 For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? 13 But those who are outside, God judges. REMOVE THE WICKED MAN FROM AMONG YOURSELVES.
For whatever reason the Catholic church cannot grasp this text in their biblical reading. To allow the likes of Kennedy and Pelosi to go on claiming to be "Christians" while they promoted the killing of innocent children is a travesty.

My grandfather died in 1973 and was the only Republican within his own family and within his own circle of friends. He really disliked Old Joe Kennedy and his entire clan.
Every-time a Kennedy died my Grandpa famously said, "Thank God, the sonof@b!+ch is dead."
His family and friends eventually woke up and became Reagan democrats.
I have to admit, when Old Ted came down with his cancer I didn't feel a thing, no sadness. Nothing. I just thought of Mary Jo and all those babies he condemned to death with his vote.
So, when Ted Kennedy died, I raised my glass to Grandpa and said,"Thank God, the sonof@b!+ch is dead."
After a lifetime of having that rapacious, immoral, grandiose warren full of verminous buck-toothed whelps thrust into my face every day, they're gone. All that cooing and fawning over low-down, thieving drankard, murdering peasants. Every day in the news, since my childhood, the cretinous knaves in the media have insisted that they are some aristocrat/saints.
As of Tuesday, they are gone. They are down and out. Camelot is cast down with Sodom and Gomorrah.
Alas, the work is not done.
