Obama speaking in Ohio: renews pledge to pass Obamacare, complains his job is "too confining"
Fox News Channel | 1/22/10

LIVE, FROM OHIO: IT'S OBAMACARE II!

The special interests have blocked healthcare reform. It's not about him. It's about "you." Is speaking to a friendly audience. Healthcare issues are part of the drag on the economy. When he wins, you win! He's dropped into his "'hood" accent. He is going to pass Obamacare one way or another "for the people."

Q: I have a U.S. patent you can use in your next election. With free trade, how can a guy like me afford to file for patents all ovber the world?

A: Our success will be built upon guys like you. If others start making your design overseas, we have inadequate patent rights on the books. You should be paid wherever your invention is made and used.

The liberal college gave out 70% of the tickets, 30% given out by Whitehouse. Of course it is a friendly crowd usually his appearances here haven’;t been announced until all of the tickets are gone. :)

Can I quote you?
That’s a great post!
I was just thinking the other day of the amount of money in the health care system that the government doesn’t control.

Every time he shows up here, his numbers drop.

Much of America forgets that the sympathetic union crowds he addresses (the only crowds he will address in Ohio) represent a tiny minority of Ohioans.

Make the same address in Western Ohio, and watch the tomatoes fly.

Every dictator and despot in the history of mankind has always claimed that he is doing it for the people. Obama is the reason that rhetoric has a bad name. He claims to be a disinterested party,i.e. he is not doing it for himself but for the people. He is trying to gain sympathy by telling us how unhappy he is. He is using identity and tribalism, it is the US against THEM principle. Obama is using every rhetorical trick available. People that have not studied rhetoric or logic are not always aware of rhetorical gimmicks. Obama is a textbook case of the demigod.

keep doing what they do .. make our job easier

Lol, that's very true. As some columnist said this week, Obama's done what no one thought could be done: he's revived the moribund Republican party in less than a year.

And, yep, that speech he's making in Ohio will help so more.

He sounds more like Hugo Chavez every minute. He even refers to himself in the third person, just the way Hugo does.

Obama is a disgusting - I can’t even go on, because I’d get kicked off of here.

Just got home. Listening for about five minutes.

He is speaking in tongues?

Haven’t understood a single word he’s babbling about.

It must be me!

LOL! We saw that “Pants on the Ground” live and my husband said, ‘this is going to be all over Youtube.’

The phrase has become a sensation! LOL.

I am glad I got an old-fashion popcorn maker for Christmas from my wife. It is going to get a lot of use this year.

Q: I am 83. I am very concerned about Social Security. I understand Congress has given itself a raise but we retirees won't get one for the next three years. Also, seniors have been denied H1N1 shots. What is happenimh?

A: Social Security won't be sound unless we make some changes. We can fix it. Regarding COLA, here's the problem. This past year, because of the recession, we had deflation. Technically, that eliminates a COLA increase. We did make a $150 payment to seniors to take the place of a COLA. We never forget seniors because they vote at a high rate. The reason seniors were not prioritized for swine flu shots is because the young were most at risk. We didn't have enough for everyone.

I now believe we know what the tone of the SOTU will be. Partisan, petulant, self-righteous and...ugly.

"Must watch" television.

He's going to tear us (the US) apart...if he doesn't tear himself apart first.

Lord, what a catastrophe of a President!

Is it too early to petition congress to respectfully request “The Divine One” to resign?

He will note move to the center, he will not except any will but his own. He will watch all burn before he gives up:
“Because some men aren’t looking for anything logical, like money. They can’t be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.”

Listen my fellow Freepers, listen to what is coming from the Whitehouse it is not the wailing and nashing of teeth what you hear is ‘El Degüello’

Every time he shows up here, his numbers drop.

Every time he speaks, the DOW drops also. Down 101 points at this time.

They are getting desperate and have to trot out different State of the Union themes. This populist anger - as though he is not the nation’s chief exec but William Jennings Bryan — will not sell. He will look needlessly confrontational, not to mention juvenile.

That said, Joe Wilson and every member of the GOP in attendance needs to keep their mouths shut until after the SOTU address. Sit on their hands, but keep their mouths shut.
