Ghoul in the strictest sense refers to a grave robbing spirit, specifically one who robs corpses from the grave to eat. The word comes from the Arabic, not surprisingly. I’m not sure I would call this particular spector a ghoul, but he is certainly spectral.

Thinking his odds at getting reelected were greater supporting the “stimulus” and switching his party affiliation, he now stands a far better chance of being put out to pasture.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that this year his problem would have been in the primary...regardless of which ballot he was on.

“She should tell him to act like a lady, too.”
He already does, he just doesn’t wear a dress. At least I don’t think so!

He’s hurting. Made the wrong choice eh, didn’t you Spector; you turncoat.

Btw, Michelle is a lady and don’t you forget it; Spector. And you better treat her as one.

You're correct. But, that was after Specter decided to support the Obama agenda.

We'll never know if Specter would have survived a primary against Toomey had he not made the decisions he did. My best guess is he would have, particularly in the current environment. Now, he looks far more vulnerable. So much so, I wonder if he won't go the route of Dodd?

I heard this live and posted this on another thread, relevant here. Arlen made a damn strange remark, I thought, and nobody challenged it.

Yesterday local Philly radio host Dom Girodano was in Washington DC to do a retrospective on Obama's first year. Coincidentally, it was the first day after Scott Brown's big win and so there was that added drama. His first guests on the show were Arlen Specter and Michelle Bachman, who were on together. Holy smokes, those two don't like each other even a little bit!

Based on that interview, I'd say Specter is in panic mode. He attacked Bachman by saying "Well, what did YOU vote for?" as if voting for something, anything, even something horrible, proves you are thoughtful and effective. Poor guy, chose the wrong time to finally admit he's a dem!

But he did make one interesting comment. He claimed that Ben Nelson was successful in getting the Senate healthcare bill changed so that the government doesn't cover it but the compromise was that if you want an abortion and you can pay for it yourself, she's still allowed to do that. "So what's wrong with a woman who pays for her own abortion being allowed to do that", asked Arlen (I paraphrase). It caused me to wonder "Wait, is he saying that the Senate bill would mostly prohibit private citizens from paying for their own procedures if they want them and insurance doesn't cover them, but abortion is the one exception?"

I am not a big feminist but this was VERY sexist and patronizing. Just called his office to tell him so.

Just this old old old man’s voice would convince me to vote against him. His condescending words to Michele Bachmann is just icing on his “good bye” cake.

Get your Pennsylvania Voter Friends to send Specter a POST CARD asking him not to run for re-election but to salvage his reputation and retire.

Why post card? Because everyone handling it will read it and know that there are thousands or more people who are voting out the incumbent.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this arrogant piece of something off the bottom of your shoes hears this tape used over and over as a tool to raise funds for Toomey! And I hope it is!

The arrogance of this administration and the entire democrat congress is going to help us win huge in Nov.
