Is Obama Already A Lame Duck?
The Business Insider ^ | Jun. 15, 2009 | John Carney

Posted on 01/20/2010 3:22:03 PM PST by Solitar

I’m not sure when everything went wrong here, but I fear that the damage is now irreparable — and that Obama’s agenda is going to be severely scaled back as a result.

Though it is a week old, the recent election of Scott Brown makes this article even more prescient and poignant.

If even more Democrats run scared, resign, or change their spots, Obama may be a lame duck already.

We already know how lame he is and if he doesn’t let go of his ego he’ll truly be a one timer.

Was Clinton a lame duck in 1995?

He's the president and it isn't even the midterms yet. Don't count him out. Acting like the majority party when you're not is not a good idea.

The problem is that there are several Republicans who want to be ‘mavericks’, so they can be potential supporters of future Obama agenda items.

Would Graham and McCain oppose immigration reform? That may be the next big agenda item.

Snowe and Collins are always in the ‘unknown quantity’ column.

The Obamacare is dead, no matter how much spin Obeyme wants to..next on his agenda, is illegal alien amnesty. With the RINOS currently seated, he has a better chance of passing it than Obamacare.

The State of the Union speech should be interesting. He must be busy re-writing it now.

Three years to go.

A lot can happen in three years.

A terrible lot.

One year ago the GOP was “finished” according to the intelligentsia.

So keep the guard up.

Don’t get cocky.

Hubris gets followed by nemesis (ruin) for a reason. But that can go both ways.

Never, ever, ever, underestimate the Republican ability to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

Never.

Here's the real question:

Recall how everyone lamented how Bill Clinton was still "young" when he finished his presidency, and so what was left for a brilliant politician like him to do?

That's the question to ask about Obama. When he leaves the White House at 52, what's he going to do next? Would he go back to the Senate, like how John Quincy Adams went to the House? Move out of the country to be the leader of another country?

What would be left for a "young" Obama?

The one positive thing Obama and the Dems can take from the Mass Meltdown is that expectations for their success have now been lowered so far that they can only exceed them. Any piece of crap that he shovels through congress with the help of a few RINOs will be heralded as a big comeback.

The problem with 0bama as I see it is he is not able or willing to retool his platform so that he can be successful at something. He is not able to see the handwriting on the wall because of his narcissism. Slick Willie also has that problem but to a lesser degree and so after his midterm meltdown he did guide more to the center. 0bama will never do this. I think Juan Williams was right last night when he said that though it may well not be the smart or right thing to do, 0bama will hunker down even more to go his way. Narcissists never ever listen to anyone, never acknowledge when they are wrong or hurt someone. And are never free with compliments or anything else unless their own ego is full to overflowing. And then when they say or do nice things for anyone they don't really mean it.

He’d make a fine President of Germany. Maybe Haiti lol. Seriously, the guy is a good speaker and faceman. He should really have been Hillary’s VP with all sorts of fun ceremonial duties and but he wanted the brass ring.

He’s a lame duck as long as WE don’t let him pretend to come to center.

Hello, GOP, -click-click... damn it GOP, pick up the darn phone... hello, I know you’re there, answer me. —dial tone.

W set him up to gurantee failure.

It was payback for the Florida debacle by Gore, the purposeful disallowal of transition team by the Clinton Administration and the relentless attack by the press that actually endangered the country.

The hapless clown was doomed from day 1

He will rattle around while the country muddles through.

W bashers...GTH
