Obama insisted today that the Senate wait for Brown to be seated before they make any changes to its version of the health care reform legislation.
Heres one thing I know and I just want to make sure that this is off the table: The Senate certainly shouldnt try to jam anything through until Scott Brown is seated, the president said. The people of Massachusetts spoke. Hes got to be part of that process.
I would advise that we try to move quickly to coalesce around those elements of the package that people agree on, he said. The president said there are core elements to the health care legislation that both Republican and Democrats agree on and they must come together to work for comprehensive reform.
We know that we need insurance reform, that the health insurance companies are taking advantage of people. We know that we have to have some form of cost containment because if we dont, then our budgets are going to blow up, he said. And we know that small businesses are going to need help so that they can provide health insurance for their families. Those are the core, some of the core elements of this bill.

To late Obango!....You’re not kidding anyone!
Man on death row wants to go on a diet!
Obammy needs a cigarette.
This is precisely the same trojan horse as the so-called "emergency" rent-control laws passed in New York City in 1948 in the wake of WWII and all the returning vets, which stipulated that residential rents would be subject to government control until the vacancy rate for residential apartments exceeded 5% - a threshhold that, of course, has never, ever been reached because the same socialist/communist left-wing liberals who originally enacted NYC's rent control used the power they had arrogated to themselves to distort the New York City housing market to ensure that no property owner in her or his right mind would ever blow the money needed to build enough new apartments so that the vacancy rate would ever exceed that threshhold of 5% - and so, 62 years later, New York City still suffers under the so-called "emergency" provisions of rent control.
Mark my words, unless we are vigilant against the sort of soft-core seduction the Democrats - who have been acting in bad faith ever since at least 2006, when they took control of Congress - we will still end up with government-controlled, 1970s Soviet-style healthcare.
So I’m curious. Are REPUBs now in the “people” category or are they still subhuman as Obama has treated them since taking office?
My dog has more say around our house than do the REPUBs in D.C.
Put your money where your mouth is, Ozero. Tell the Politburo to put real Tort Reform back on the table.
We want you to STOP!!!!!!! Dont you people get it????
In Clinton-speak that means seat Scott Brown, then jam it down our throats. Anyone else read it that way also?
Obama didn’t decide to slow things down. Senator Webb and Senator Claire McCaskell of Missouri told Harry Reid to slow down and wait for Scott Brown to be seated as Senator first.
Obama is so ineffectual. His newest strategy is to attack all of the banks, energy companies, Chamber of Commerce, Big Pharma, and the Insurance Companies. He is going to be running out of enemies by November election date.
I think healthcare may be dead.
In fact, cap and trade is dead. Immigration reform is dead. Obummer’s entire communist agenda is pretty much dead thanks to the good people of Massachusetts who have stopped drinking the Koolaid long enough to actually do some hard and fast thinking about the issues!
Yeah... NO he says that! The writing is already on the wall for you Obama and its obvious you read it now... Here’s something else for you to chew on: TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!
*NOW - ugh, I hate when that happens!
Uh, no. America says slow down on health care. In fact, it actually said "stop."
And it’s not just the shift of one seat in the senate,
but the dynamic shift in the electorate that put a
repub into the senate from the bluest of blue states.
I agree with you. They’ll start saying anything now to save their jobs...
hes got to be?? real good english from a harvard grad
"I would advise that we try to move quickly..."
Make up your mind, Bammy !
.
We all do? Really? When one makes a generalization statement to bolster their argument, their position is bogus.
In my 45 years I have not been “taken advantage of” by my health insurance companies I have had coverage from.
I dare say that a lot of other people can make the same claim that I have made.
I could say that my government has “taken advantage of” me and millions of others by extracting tax dollars from me to give to the sloths of this country. How about some welfare reform before any insurance reform ... Yobama!
