Greeneyes, I appreciate you taking the time to explain who you are.
"I am a freedom loving American. I support the constitution, especially the bill of rights. I do not support the amendments that have eroded states rights such as the income tax, and other violations of the 10th amendment.
I do not support much of the legislation that has been passed (creeping socialism). I thought Roe v Wade was a horrible misinterpretation of the constitution.
The leftist MSM has tacked a label on people of conservative. That would imply that we want to conserve the status quo. I want to roll back the socialism that has been marching forward before I was even born.
I object to labels, but I think most of the tag-lines give a sufficient clue to where people on this forum stand."
I think labels are definitely limited, but this is my take on Conservative.
A true Conservative is a freedom loving, God-fearing, family loving, pro-life, patriot American, who supports Constitutional rule of law, limited powers of government along the lines of the intentions of the Founding Fathers.
Kind of like what you said.
A true Conservative is a thoughtful, well reasoned individual, who possesses cautious optimism, and therein does not trust the platitudes of big government promises.
Now, the RAT media can try to cloud, lie, tweak and misrepresent Conservatives all they want. And they are dying as a result of it because more and more people understand that they lie about us, and about our principles! But I stand as a proud Conservative American in the middle of socialist blue Seattle.
And this morning, for evident reasons, I have hope in America!

Bless you for your principles. Once upon a time the term Liberal meant freedom. Then the left co opted the term for themselves, and tagged freedom lovers with the term conservative. This still gets my dander up.
So I stand tall as a freedom loving American and reject labels.(Actually I am undertall LOL)
Best wishes for reclaiming your state and implementing reforms which restore liberty and power to the people.

my husband had a meeting up in Boston on Monday and talked to a lot of these types. You sure he wasn't talking to Democrats? ;-)

I appreciate your stand and will ponder the meaning of political labels affixed to us historically by a socialist press today. Thanks for helping me think about that.
All the best as you stand for Freedom in your community.

That being the case, they should ID themselves as Conservatives, imho, and remove all doubts. I'm not sure that's an option. The Conservative Party (no idea of whether it's affiliated nationally or what) once did get enough votes to be an "official" party in MA (I think in 1996, when it ran Gallagher the year Bill Weld challenged Kerry) -- but they've never run a candidate for anything since.
In any case, to register as a Conservative would mean in practical terms that you couldn't vote in a primary -- God knows there are few enough meaningful Republican primaries in MA. An independent ("Unenrolled" here, since a third party took the name Independent) can vote in whichever primary looks more important to him.

election results started trickling in. Obama assumed the fetal position. I wonder if there was some heavy drug use in the WH and leftist America last night?

thanks for a great hump-day laugh. that was hysterical!
definitely going to forward the link to some o-bots.

You and greeneyes are talking about two different types of votes - you talking to a pollster, greeneyes talking about the primary. Having worked a primary, there are some you don’t want to say R or D, not understanding that it is a PRIMARY, not the general. A primary is for THAT PARTY, and you have to say which party that is involved in the primary that you want to vote in.

Hopefully Scott Browns win is the final nail in the Kennedycare coffin...... This is only one battle won.... If the RNC hijacks the tea party and grass roots movements we are back to square one.
PASS THE WORD To tea partiers, 9/12 marchers, pro-lifers; defense of marriage, 2nd amendment, anti ObamaCare, anti-amnesty, anti-cap/trade conservatives. It's in our hands to dictate the terms by which we support candidates.
HOLD CANDIDATES' FEET TO THE FIRE These are the terms under which we conservatives permit candidates to earn our support:
(1) Your conservative group holds an official position within the campaign;
(2) Your group's issue is affirmed in the candidate's platform;
(3) Your group is in attendance at all campaign strategy meetings;
(4) Your group holds a paid job in the campaign;
(5) Your group holds a paid position in the winning candidate's elective office.
(6) The candidate must renounce RINOS and pukeneos before he/she gets conservative endorsement.
====================================
HOW TO HANDLE THE RNC
When you receive an RNC fundraising call or letter, simply reply: " A donation in your name has been sent to the Scott Brown Relection Committee."

Did you just see SB’s newscast? He emphasis’s his independence not a party man....He’ll do what is best for the people of MA, that is who he represents. He’s worked with people who don’t agree with him, BUT stand by his moral compass.
Sounds like the Tea Party mantra!

Im saying, if thats the case, why not call yourself a Conservative. Calling yourself a conservative paints an target on your back....The opposition then targets you and makes anything you try ineffective....better to keep em guessing and get the job done!

Good news and from what little I watched the talkers last night the RNC was nowhere to be found. Seems like the libtards were and are not the only ones in a state of shock.
Wonder since this was a Kennedy seat, IF the newly elected Senator Brown will get to have old Teddy's office and all the trappings that went with the office? For me it has been the most striking mental challenge to listen to how possessive these libtards are over this elected office. I don't know the date when this mindset came into being but these liberals have long forgotten who government is and it sure is not a singular politician. I sure hope that the newly elected Senator knows who government is and does not become just another member of that special club of 100.

.........Will Sen Brown will get to have old Teddy's office and all the trappings that went with the office?.... The trappings and the large corner offices come with seniority/
Course Teddy was a Kennedy and brother of a president....so this "party of the people rep" probably get special privileges.

Thank you John...this is an EPIC event....
Excerpt from his Victory speech last night:
And let me say this, with respect to those who wish to harm us, I believe that our Constitution and laws exist to protect this nation - they do not grant rights and privileges to enemies in wartime.
In dealing with terrorists, our tax dollars should pay for weapons to stop them, not lawyers to defend them.

That is so good ...it needs its own thread with a suitable Headline....
Just Outstanding!
