This is Romney’s Big Night, Too
IBD's Capital Hill ^ | 1/19/2010 | Ed Carson

Ex-Mass. Gov. Mitt Romney was just talking on Fox News about Washington Democrats' “attitude of arrogance” on Fox News. Speaking from Scott Brown's HQ, Romney was a key backer of the little-known state senator back when he was seen as a sacrificial lamb.

While some are already touting Brown as a 2012 presidential contender, Romney could be the big beneficiary. He’s helped deliver the 41st GOP vote, perhaps derailing Obamacare. Activists will remember that.

>> but Romney certainly helped fund and his people ran the campaign...

Maybe he’ll do the same for the 2012 candidate. Good that he helped out.

All elected moderates should step down and make room for the Conservative representation the Country’s demanding.

Mitt Romney's Man: Scott Brown

Strange wording, I hope not.

I read the link. Yes, lots of Romney people--called "disciples" in the article--worked on Brown's campaign.

Romney helped him raise money.

But the bottom line comes at the end of the article

The upside for Brown is that Romney’s team has a proven track record of success in statewide campaigns in the state. And that team has stayed remarkably cohesive through Romney’s post-gubernatorial career. That stands in marked contrast to the crackup John McCain’s aides went through following their losing 2008 campaign. And that, Romney supporters say, bodes well not only for Brown—but also for Romney’s White House chances in 2012.

“When you read the new book Game Change,” says the Republican strategist Kaufman, “the one thing that impresses you is how loyal the Obama folks were to their guy in a cycle where that was not the strong suit. The truth is the same with the Romney folks. They are dead loyal to their guy.

No two ways about it, Romney is politically savvy.

It's about his running for president in 2012, which he started doing the day he dropped out of the 2008 race.

What I find so sad about Free Republic are all the Freepers who rallied around Brown, but cast aspersions at the more conservative man who helped launch his campaign -- Mitt Romney.

Dang, why didn't Romney run? I think it's that waffle/liberal leaning thing.

Yet, with his experience getting companies out of the red, as she saw it (and I agree) he would have been the perfect president for the time.

Being President is a lot more than business sense.

He "saved" the olympics (which ended up in the red) but managed to get a lot of political capitol from the effort.

We believe the perception of his detractors is for the most part, incorrect.

Well, a lot was vetted and imo he fell way short.

A lot of strong conservatives agree with that.

I believe we need a strong military man on the ballot in 2012. I don't know who would fit that bill, but there are several that could pop out of the crowd.

Hopefully Romney sees how well he can work for others to get them elected, and does the same thing for the Conservative candidates in 2012

I think he will run himself though.

That would be a disaster imo.

Thanks for the post my friend.

LOL don’t you love it....

Not the Democrats, not the Republican it is the People’s party!

So if there is a real house cleaning going on many one should consider

Mark 2: 22
22 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles: else the new wine doth burst the bottles, and the wine is spilled, and the bottles will be marred: but new wine must be put into new bottles.

Luke 5:
37 And no man putteth new wine into old bottles; else the new wine will burst the bottles, and be spilled, and the bottles shall perish.

38 But new wine must be put into new bottles; and both are preserved.

39 No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.

Matt. 9:
17 Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.

Seems like the second wave of Mittbots has hit FR. Just waiting for the usual ‘hate against Mormons’ line gets tossed out again.

It is actually funny in a sad, pathetic way. Predictable as a metronome.

...they fawned all over Brown and continue to hate Romney. It doesn't make any sense.

When Brown manages to PROVE himself a 'conservative' of the Romney stripe; perhaps it will...

One year ago Scott Brown was an obscure state senate with a primitive website and a few locally made signs.

And that was BEFORE Going Rogue came out!

Mitt now has a campaign package that he can export to every R candidate running for Congress this fall.

Oh?

Why didn't 'the package' work for MITT when HE ran?

Romney was working round the clock in the background to get Scott Brown elected in MA.

He could NOT work in the FOREGROUND to get HIMSELF re-elected in MA!

Yes, the RINO scheme really worked well for McCain. Mitt has no chance on the national level.

Just waiting for the usual ‘hate against Mormons’ line gets tossed out again.

With comments like this; that ELSIE fellow will SPAM this thread with facts about MORMONism.

Do not DO that on a NEWS thread.

You have been warned.

Locally, I've been stunned at the number of strong conservatives both fiscally and socially who like Romney...

Because it's so MANY?

Or so FEW??
