We should take the liberal line on this. If a candidate is indeed a natural born citizen, then what does he/she have to worry about?

I was waiting for a state to do this. I’d have guessed it would have been Idaho or Wyoming, but Arizona will work. A former Attorney General of Pennsylvania will be happy to read this.

“overwhelming evidence” “lawsuits dismissed”

and yet no release of a long form birth certificate for Steve Dunham...

Requiring a certified copy of every candidate’s complete, original birth certificate seems reasonable to me. I guess I’m not smart enough to understand why it’s crazy.

It’s “laughable” because it wasn’t done before?

So, my putting a fire in the kitchen is “laughable” because I wasn’t concerned about it before?

What a tard.

I’m pretty sure this bill is laughable for other reasons as well. Will it specify detailed requirements on how the Secretary of State is to verify the documents they find, or could this easily be derailed by a lazy or unknowledgeable Secretary of State?

What it needs is
- to specifically require a candidate’s LONG FORM birth certificate, to verify that they were born in this country.
- to require naturalisation or birth documentation for the candidate’s parents, to verify that they are citizens of this country
- to require that appropriate (this may be informed by things like the candidate’s ancestry and recent foreign travel) other nations are contacted to ensure that they have never conferred citizenship on the candidate at their request or otherwise.

From the article: We wonder how much it would cost the secretary of state in time and money to independently certify every candidate that might come forward in 2012?

To independently certify that each presidential candidate meets the requirements of Article II, Section 1, U. S. Constitution? About half of a morning's work and maybe about 100 bucks or so. If even that.

If the paltry amount of work such verification would require (assuming even the most minimal level of cooperation on the part of the candidates) constitutes the author's only objection to this proposed legislation, then the case against this bill is very weak, indeed.

This actually makes sense with our “multi-cultural” and “diverse” population. And lets not forget the foreign born commie that made it onto some ballots for President. Ron something? Raul? what was the name? Outrageous!

We should concern ourselves with the fraud-cons on talk radio (Beck, and others) and in other media (Coulter, Malkin) who are siding with the Liberals on the BC issue.

You figure the Liberals will whine about the questions about Obama and the questions regarding to his being able to Constitutionally hold office....but it is scary that fraud-cons are joining liberals on this one....all that most are asking is for Obama to show his real BC.

I am more troubled with Fraud-cons who are enabling liberals and Obama on this issue

BTW....great that Arizona is stepping up on the BC issue

Her comments to Capitol Media Services make it clear she's sympathetic to the conspiracy theory that President Barack Obama isn't a natural born citizen, despite the overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

she is sympathetic to the fact that no one has received any evidence either way for 0bambi. no thoughts beyond that are required.

A proposal to compel school athletic teams to independently verify the eligibility of their kids is downright laughable, considering just how little the state has cared about this issue in the past.
Even more, the schools would have to certify with a birth certificate that each candidate is eligible, or refuse to let them participate.
We wonder how much it would cost the schools in time and money to independently certify every athlete that might come forward in 2012?

A certified long form birth certificate is good enough for a social security number, a drivers license, signing up for youth sports with age limitations, a passport, etc., but all of a sudden, the liberals whine & cry that it will create too much controversy to validate that someone is a legitmate & natural born citizen of the U.S.???

Liberals are mentally deranged, genetically deficient sub-human beings!!!

The author seen the overwhelming evidence to the contrary? I haven’t, I would like to see this, it would be nice to see. We would all like to see it. The author should have put it in the article and added real substance to the writing.

Well, if I decide to run, I doubt it would cost her more that five minutes of her time and the cost of a xerox copy.

Don’t you mean “downright sensible,” because the law would make them start caring about it?
