Pelosi: We Will Have Health Care One Way Or Another
January 18, 2010
ABC News' Jonathan Karl reports: Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi says Democrats will charge ahead with health care reform regardless of what happens in the Massachusetts Senate race.
"Let's remove all doubt, we will have health care -- one way or another," Pelosi told reporters in San Francisco.
But how? The Speaker was less clear on that question.
"Certainly the dynamic would change depending on what happens in Massachusetts," Pelosi said. "[Its] just a question about how we would proceed. But it doesn't mean we won't have a health care bill."
Privately, Democratic Congressional leaders are less certain. The most likely scenario, and one preferred by the White House, is for the House to simply pick up and pass the bill that passed the Senate on Christmas Eve. But House Democrats say they cant do that because they simply dont have the votes to pass Senate bill (recall that House passed its own bill by a narrow 220-215 margin, and since then, one of those 220, Democrat Robert Wexler, has left the House and wont be replaced until April).
Speculating on the impact of Republican victory, one Democratic leadership aide in the Senate told me today, The most likely outcome is that health care reform dies.

Breaking News Alert The New York Times Mon, January 18, 2010 7:09 PM ET - Democrats Seeking to Push Senate Health Bill Through House The White House and Democratic Congressional leaders, scrambling for a backup plan to rescue their health care legislation if Republicans win the special election in Massachusetts on Tuesday, are preparing to ask House Democrats to approve the Senate version of the bill, which would send the measure directly to President Obama for his signature.
I truly believe that the EMOcrats are trying to cause violence and they won’t stop until they can invoke marshall law.
She can take that "health care bill" and shove it directly up her a$$!

Exactly... gotta love democracy... say what you want. Do pretty much what you want. There they were, struggling for 60 votes, making deals, buying votes just to make the 60th.
Now they are losing the 60th seat they counted on and are showing their true tyrannical face and are promising to JAM it. And this is just the beginning of more to come if they are left to their devices.
Ping
And the lone GOP vote has said he won't vote for the new Bill.
So, that's two votes they lost.
“This is no longer just politics.”
Exactly.
