Breaking News Alert The New York Times Mon, January 18, 2010 7:09 PM ET - Democrats Seeking to Push Senate Health Bill Through House The White House and Democratic Congressional leaders, scrambling for a backup plan to rescue their health care legislation if Republicans win the special election in Massachusetts on Tuesday, are preparing to ask House Democrats to approve the Senate version of the bill, which would send the measure directly to President Obama for his signature.
Won't pass without the anti-abortion amendment in it.
They can try to ram the Senate bill thru the House, but:
1. It’s riddled w corruption (Cornhusker Kickback etc)
2. Includes Cadillac tax on union plans
3. Paid abortions
Frankly, Obama is asking every House RAT to jeopardize their careers over one vote. I don’t think Pelosi can assemble 218 to pass the Senate bill in the House.
This is VERY GOOD news as to Scott Brown’s election tomorrow.
