Really, there's precious little fairness in the world. People tend to be slaves to emotion, and prejudices often reign supreme, even (in fact, especially) in those who rail against prejudice. This is why we'll see millions of Americans reflexively dismiss a politician simply because of the letter following his name. It is why people will often oppose a position they would otherwise support simply because it's being advocated by someone they dislike. Ah, that troublesome human nature.
This brings us to Sarah Palin, the Wasilla woman often billed as the best hope of the GOP. She certainly isn't one of those plain vanilla characters who inspire blasé reactions, that's for sure. It's just so often the case that people either love her or hate her, believe she is the cat's meow or the pig with lipstick, a political sensation or a puerile simpleton. I'm in neither camp.
Scrape away the emotionalism, and one realizes that Palin isn't at either extreme. Underestimated by the left and overestimated by the right, the truth about her lies somewhere in between. Where, exactly? That is secondary, because there is a more important point here relating to Palin's political future.
She doesn't have one.
I know this will raise the hackles of many, but you can forget Sarah Palin. I say this not because of her defects in ideology or lack of competency, but for a very simple reason: She has been Quayled.

I had my bellyfull of that several months ago. Among the crap he was posting at the time was that Palin's "sky-high" unfavorables (over 50% according to him) were "death to a politican" (his words). This was just hours after Rasmussen released a poll showing her F/U at 51/43.
I am half-interested in his 'research' showing the AK fiscal 2009 budget she submitted was 9+% higher than the previous year, a bunch of crap. He probably does his research at Mudflats or some other renowned Alaska blogger site. LOL.
Governor Murkowski's last budget FY2007: $11,697,400,000
Governor Palin's last budget FY2010: $10,570,000,000
That's a 9.5% DROP.
With respect to federal requests for money submitted by the AK governor's office:
FFY2007- Gov. Murkowski 63 projects at $349,497,000
FFY08- Gov. Palin 52 projects at $256,037,000
FFY09- Gov. Palin 31 projects at $195,094,900
FFY10- Gov. Palin: 8 projects @ $69,100,000
Real facts are pesky things but that won't stop Palin smear artists like Bob. And he IS an artist at it.

Seeing as how Wasila is 565 US miles (909.27 Kilomters) north west of Juneau and about 15 miles (24.14 Kilomters inland from the Sea), that would of been one heck of a bridge Bob J is claiming she was for.
Those budget numbers are not correct and I don’t have the time to find out what’s wrong with them right now. You could post your source as a starter.
Still waiting for the so-called research. The LSM must have slipped up when they sent battalions of reserchers and lawyers to forensically examine her record from Wasilla Mayor to Governor. I read in her book that they went over every single meeting record. No doubt Bob has too.

There's been much debate about when she was for it and when she was against it but the bottom line is that there was one person responsible for the decision to kill this project and it was Gov. Palin. She probably lost the votes of most of the 8,000 or so townfolk when she did it, but she DID kill it. End of story.
I used to think the that rag was conservative back when it first opened up - but it is definitely not - perhaps a libertarian site, perhaps a bit left - and seems to be trending further left.

IF you cannot source these supposed "Facts" you keep throwing around Bob, we have no choice but to assume you are simply making them up until you prove different.

I'm no kind of nut, but I am a Christian. As a matter of fact, Sarah and I have the same God! He is one of the reasons I support her. Have you read her book? You may have some better understanding of why she is so popular (or not!). She hasn't just captured my heart, but my mind and commitment. Todd gets all the FWB...
