Phone call from the Scott Brown rally, outside Mechanics Hall:
Up to 5,000 supporters of Scott Brown have gathered vociferously outside the hall, loud enough at times to drown out the phone conversation. Shouting slogans, they have blocked all four street lanes for about half a block around the rally point.
Only a few at a time were allowed into the hall for about 15 minutes and they have just announced that the hall is filled to capacity as are two overflow areas, one of which is Lexington Hall in the Crown Plaza hotel.
At least 2,000 people are still in the street outside the hall with no room for them to go. They are now marching toward another with a least 1,000 in front of Race Bannon who was one of the first to turn toward the new location and has that many behind him.
Whether sound and video will be piped to the oveflow areas was still unclear, though simulcast has been started at the Lexingtron Hall, whose 400 or so capacity has wall to wall, flesh to flesh packed attendance of at least 1,000 very enthusiastic supporters.
The rally includes visitors from New Jersey and parts of Illinois among other places.

“What a harsh bitch! Listening to her is as uncomfortable and revolting as fingernails on on a chalk board. Nancy Pelosi, Jr.!”
Let’s not forget their mentor, Queen Hitlery.
Did nobody notice that when Obama, Clinton and President Bush came to the podium to announce Haiti help, Clinton PUSHED Bush to the other side of Obama so that Clinton could stand at Obama’s right hand side.
Standing (or sitting or being placed) at the right hand side is a diplomatic protocol of “position seniority” or importance!
As the previous President, Bush should normally have been on Obama’s right hand.
Unless you know these things you would not have noticed the ugly low class, intended insult or grab for importance by Clinton.
any video???
>YES, I read Beckwith's wonderful report !!!! and also Timeout's excellent letter. (I intend to send a more curt note to FNC after my CHARGER game).
((((hoosiermama)))) I am ready to weep tears of joy... and Champagne really should be on ice for his victory that we're continuing to pray for! Should we dare to prepare ahead of time?

CAIRO (AP) - The Saudi billionaire whose investment firm is one of the biggest stakeholders in Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. said he is looking to expand his alliances with the media giant, in the latest indication that his appetite for growth remains robust even as his company retrenches.
Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a nephew of the Saudi king and who was listed last year by Forbes as the world’s 22nd richest person, met with News Corp.’s chief executive Rupert Murdoch on Jan. 14 in a meeting that “touched upon future potential alliances with News Corp.,” according to a statement released by his Kingdom Holding Co. late Saturday.

I just got back from being inside Mechanics Hall... it was ELECTRIC inside! First speeches by the campaign manager, Doug Flutie, Curt Shilling, Ayla, a bunch of well respected and great-speaking football stars (sorry, don’t follow football enough), and others. The hall was PACKED, Scott and the hall were rocking. There was a shout - something like “YOU ARE A MACHINE”, to which Scott retorted... “NO, YOU (pointing), AND YOU (pointing), YOU... ARE THE MACHINE”. THis was so spectular with signs sporting “THE PEOPLES SEAT”.
How good is MA at handling “early voting”? In Illinois, not so good. In the 2008 election, my son early voted, yet when I went to the polling place on election day, his information was in the binder and he could have voted again. Appears they didn’t do a very good job of purging the voting list of the early voters. That whole thing should be thrown out if they can’t police it properly. Or if it can be purposely messed with....
This is the first time in my life I've ever attended any political rally, and it was friggin electrifying!
People in unison chanting "41, 41, 41", Curt Schilling wearing a Yankees cap, a sign saying "The SCOTT heard 'round the world!", the absolute throng of several thousand all pumped and realizing they are instrumental in giving Dear Reader a slapping he never expected.
This thing is larger than any of you outside of MA can understand. This is Massachusetts, where something like this isn't supposed to happen, but is, and is with such enthusiasm that few of us will ever experience.
Brace yourself, there's a tsunami forecast for Tuesday, January 19, and it's about to come crashing down on Washington big time!
btw, I took lots of photos, and if I can find a place to host them, I'll post them for all to see.
he’s afraid for his life understandably, they killed his nephew.
Did Schilling REALLY wear a Yankees cap?!
It’s a wonder that 0bama didn’t shove both Bush and Clinton out of the way and scream “MINE!MINE! THE SPOTLIGHT’S ALL MINE!!!”
From where I was standing, it looked to be a Yankees cap, but a quick look at my camera's zoomed images, alas, says otherwise. Sorry for the cock-up.
A couple other things I forgot to mention - about two dozen scullery maid supporters were out in force for Coakley, and it looked to me that several crawled up from the gutter to earn themselves a tenner for holding a sign. But, my big disappointment at the rally is that I didn't get to see Molly Line and ask her if she'd have my love child.
This should be interesting.
I was at Mechanic's Hall as well. I was standing on the floor right behind the guy who shouted "We are going to win" during Brown's speech. I had to keep pinching myself to believe that this was real and not a dream. This is Massachusetts turning out thousands of people for a Republican candidate! I felt as though everybody in that room could have been a Freeper.
Despite the fact that most of the people outside couldn't get in, it was a very well-behaved crowd. I did not see a single person get out of line and despite thousands upon thousands of Brown campaign signs, not a single one was left on the floor or ground. After the rally, we left the streets as clean as we found them.
Even the cops were caught up in the excitement. You could tell that they were Brown supporters and glad to be a part of things.
