Ive ALWAYS liked the guy....
OK, so which is it "guy who gets Dems elected by voting 3rd party"?
I'd say you're confused enough to be worthless.
If you've ALWAYS liked the Brown why don't you quit accusing him of something he's not and send him a few bucks.
I think I'll stick w/ Rep. Ron Paul, thank you very much.
In which case you are only about a 45% Conservative yourself. Ron Paul's foreign policy positions are not only radically anti Constitutional, they are completely ignorant of history as well. For his example his "Defending American 1st" bill was a wholly unconstitutional attempt abridge the CIC authority of the Executive and give it to the Congress. Then his defense of Congressional earmarks shows him CINO when it comes to actually walking the limited Government walk, not just talking the talk. And yes spare me the hymns about how he votes against all sorts of spending bills. Only when his vote makes no difference does he do that. Easy to vote Nay when 300-400 other Congresspersons are voting Aye. What would actually be walking the walk would be to lead the fight to abolish earmarks, not defend this wholly unconstitutional action from Congress.
No, it’s the “fat” thing for me, and I am a 56 year old american. I travel inside the US a lot and it is really becoming something I notice way too much. I’m becoming almost obsessed by it. But this is the wrong thread and I sincerely apologize.
I began my accounting career in county government. Membership in SEIU was a condition of employment. I went to a couple meetings to see what it was all about. The local member/officers ostensibly ran the meeting but a couple of times they had trouble making the "correct" decisions. It was then that a guy sitting quietly in the back of the room spoke up and got them back on track. Turns out he was the SEIU pro. He had effective control of the meeting and the decision-making process. The handful of voting members at the meeting only ratified what he had already decided. The vast majority of the local membership had no idea what was even going on when it was decided to donate union money to the leftie on the Board of Supervisors who was running for California State Assembly. And this was before he had even officially announced.
But I would never have been caught dead in an SEIU teeshirt.
>>I think we all need to take a deep breath about conservative “purity”,<<
Which is what cost is the White House in 2008 and subsequently NY23
>>and grade our candidates on how close, or how far away they are from theoretical “perfection”.<<
That is a GREAT idea. It might be a better way to get through to those “I ain’t votin’ in no damn RINO, even if it means the democrats take over!” purity types.
Let me give you a Reagan quote that MindBender26 just sent me...& I wish that ALL of the Ron Paul haters would take this into account:
The person who agrees with you 80 percent of the time is a friend and an ally not a 20 percent traitor. Quoted on KCBS radio in 1972 by Reagans gubernatorial chief of staff.
I don't agree w/ Rep. Paul on all issues all of the time, either. For example, he supports term limits, while I don't; he opposes the death penalty, while I don't think it is used nearly enough. But I can accept that, just liuke I can accept my differences w/ Scott Brown & am beginning to respect him even more as I learn more about him.
Tea Party patriots need to fill the lower ranks of the Republican party establishment at the entry level in order to have a voice in who the party puts forth as candidates.
It all starts at the precinct level.
"Show me just what Mohammed brought that was new, and there you will find only things evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached." - Manuel II Palelogus
ChrisInAR keeps posting his warning against Brown = per this latest one "It looks like you may be thinking short term (defeating ObamaCare) while I may be thinking long term (the GOP embracing another progressive). It may work out great @ the moment, but down the road, could this be something that the GOP may later regret?"
So, ChrisInAR, you signed up to FR just a month ago today to offer us your divisive advice? You keep refuting our arguments re the importance of winning this.
You may want to duck and cover - we don't take kindly to TROLLS here.
YOU KNOW, you dont bee seein no bruthas in da puriple shurits, dis be fake pixure, YOU KNOW.
That's interesting, in an election where the dems are acting so freaked out, you'd think the'd be goosestepping the voters to the polls through their standard fear and intimidation techniques. It's hard to believe that poster has it right.
>>Enough w/ the Saul Alinsky trash talk.<<
He’s a nut job and stated antisemitic. It ain’t Alinksy to state the truth (although it is ironic that to immediately insult people who dare say the truth is right out of the Alinksy playbook).
Ron Paul is an anchor on the Conservative movement.
And you don’t quote Reagan about Paul, you quote a Reagan staffer about a theoretical candidate.
Maggie’s link above has them for sale...almost half off. You can buy two!
WOnder if the 300 being bused in are getting paid $50 and the locals are not....It’d piss me off!
>>YOU KNOW, you dont bee seein no bruthas in da puriple shurits, dis be fake pixure, YOU KNOW.<<
Mus be that foto-chop thing...
I forgot:
N000b.
Are you the vanguard of ANOTHER paulbot invasion? Heck it took months to disinfect from the last one!
These fine patriots wanted to get their voices heard about their union selling them out, so they reached out to the Republican candidate running in their district, our friend, Marty Lamb. He helped to organize the rally outside and pointed out to them that some SEIU purple would look great with some Brown.
Tee hee!
“I smell TROLL”
Yep.
A “purist” troll.
A “concern” troll.
Or is that why you're here - been here a whole month today.
Go Away.
(either troll or the kind of 'purist' that got obama elected.)
Right now, Brown is our horseshoe nail...
Talks out of both sides of his ass and tops it off with a burp. Yeah I thought I smelled a troll here too.
FReegards!
I just got up to Martha Coakley's campaign HQ to help her win Tuesday's crucial special election. I have to tell you -- this isn't like anything Massachusetts has ever seen.
It's happening right after the holidays, so a lot of people haven't even heard about it. Meanwhile, the same guys behind the Swift Boat ads are taking over the airwaves to distort Martha's record, and the same far-right tea-party crowd that's attacking President Obama is funding her opponent.
The stakes in this race are incredibly high. If we don't hold this seat, a right-wing Republican will hold Sen. Ted Kennedy's old seat until at least 2012 -- and we'll lose a crucial vote in the Senate for health reform and the agenda we fought so hard for last year.
That's why we're going all out in Massachusetts with a massive effort to lock up a Democratic victory. But we can only afford to keep this battle up against the far right through Election Day if folks like you chip in.
Please donate $5 or more to help us make Martha Coakley the next senator from Massachusetts.
Democratic ads are highlighting the key differences between Martha, a long-time public servant and one of the nation's best attorneys general, and her extreme Republican opponent who would walk in lockstep with Mitch McConnell and national GOP power brokers.
And our organizers are engaging volunteers by the thousands to make sure Obama voters make it back to the polls.
But we need your help to keep it going. Please donate $5 or more to the Democratic Party to support our work, including our efforts to elect Martha Coakley:
Let's win this,
Hari
