What went wrong? A year ago, he was king of the world. Now President Obama's approval rating, according to CBS, has dropped to 46 percent -- and his disapproval rating is the highest ever recorded by Gallup at the beginning of an (elected) president's second year.
A year ago, he was leader of a liberal ascendancy that would last 40 years (James Carville). A year ago, conservatism was dead (Sam Tanenhaus). Now the race to fill Ted Kennedy's Senate seat in bluest of blue Massachusetts is surprisingly close, with a virtually unknown state senator bursting on the scene by turning the election into a mini-referendum on Obama and his agenda, most particularly health care reform. A year ago, Obama was the most charismatic politician on earth. Today the thrill is gone, the doubts growing -- even among erstwhile believers.
Liberals try to attribute Obama's political decline to matters of style. He's too cool, detached, uninvolved. He's not tough, angry or aggressive enough with opponents. He's contracted out too much of his agenda to Congress.
These stylistic and tactical complaints may be true, but they miss the major point: The reason for today's vast discontent, presaged by spontaneous national Tea Party opposition, is not that Obama is too cool or compliant but that he's too left.

Outstanding article. 2010 is the year that Obama will implode and bring the entire Democrat party down with him. He’s too much of an ideological puritan to triangulate.
It's inherently risky for any charismatic politician to legislate. To act is to choose and to choose is to disappoint the expectations of many who had poured their hopes into the empty vessel -- of which candidate Obama was the greatest representative in recent American political history.

Pissant Obama should never been elected. No one know anything about him. Claims that William Ayers was never known to him as a Weatherman Underground. Oddly being an alinsky disciple the Weatherman are mentioned on page xvii. Where is the birth certificate? Why is that the adoption records of Barry Soetoro are not released? What about the Indonesian Pasport and his traveling to akistan. The media aided and abetted this calamity. The People have the rights afforded in the Constitution to depose this charaltan, fraud schemer, fill it in yourself

To them, appearances of brilliance are far more important than substantive character.
This was their main complaint about Bush, and their main “relief” when 0bama was elected. “Finally we have a president that can speak well.”
A couple of thoughts...
1) How will he govern after he's neutered? Like Clinton did after he was nutted? I don't think The Kenyan has it in him to run a kindergarten.
2) Will his own party finally see him for the liability he is and take him down, perhaps gin up a made-for-impeachment scandal...? Will the dems become born-again birthers?
Amen. Everyone thinks this is a political war and it is to a certain extent but it is spiritual war and this will be fought with spiritual weapons. We need to continue to intercede in prayer for this nation.
Bush never answered or addressed the attacks by the left.
The “new tone” is the reason we have 0bama as president today.
It can’t happen soon enough.
Most media also seem to be able to overlook that it is Democrats raining on the Obama parade. They have a huge majority in the House and a Super Majority in the Senate and can’t pass his agenda.
