A recent Free Press article noted that Rep. Tim Walz doesnt dispute that a majority of Americans are opposed to the (health care) bill or at least highly skeptical.
Now, let me get this straight: We elected Walz to represent us, we pay his salary through our rising taxes, and yet he is planning to vote against our wishes. How can that be? Does he not understand what his title means? A representative is to act in the stead of another.
The article then goes on to quote Walz: The day after we pass it, the sun will rise. Now, I can take that in two ways. One, a sarcastic the health care bill wont be the end of the world, which isnt very encouraging. Or the other, that the light bulb will suddenly go on in the minds of us foolish doubters and we will suddenly understand the glory that is Obamacare.
If this bill is so wonderful, why is the bill and its debate being hidden?
2010 is an election year. Its time to elect someone who will truly represent the wishes of the majority of the constituents.
This legislation will create and save 3 to 4 million jobs, rebuilding America, making us more globally competitive and energy independent, and transforming our economy for long-term growth; give 95% of American workers an immediate tax cut; and invest quickly in the economy with 75% spent in the first 18 months.
Experts say more than 90 percent of the jobs created will be in the private sector. added Walz.
The “will of the people” has been shredded by idealogs who obey only their masters in Washington. I hope Mr. Walz and all others like him find out in November who their real bosses are. Ignore us at your peril, Washington.
boot his arse
“Its time to elect someone who will truly represent the wishes of the majority of the constituents.”
Where is Captain Obvious when you need him?
NB - special election in VA for empty State Senate seat - Lib Dem took it by 327 votes, less than the total of absentee ballots. Lesson: GET OFF YOUR DEAD @SS AND VOTE!!!
“boot his arse”?
How about put a cap in his arse?
HOw about keel hauling his arse?
How about putting his arse in public stocks?
How about just kicking hell out his sorry arse?
MissDairyGoodnessVT?
Two ways to go with this,
One, you are everything we all envision a MissDairyGoodnessVT to be.
ORRRRR you are an old fat hairy Italian guy from Brooklyn.
Morning.
Walz is a PUTZ!
This legislation will create and save 3 to 4 million jobs, rebuilding America, making us more globally competitive and energy independent”
How this is connected to the “health care debacle” of a bill is beyond me.
Madison, in the Federalist Papers, advocated a representative democracy in order to protect what he viewed as individual liberty from majority rule, or from the effects of such inequality within society. The role of the Congressional Representative was never intended to blindly follow what the majority of his constituents favored. If Walz truly believes that ObamaCare is what’s best for his constituents he should vote for it and defend this position in the next election.
Having said that, I believe that he should be voted out because of this support and it is well and proper that his constituents should make this clear to him. Pitchforks come in handy at times.
Love the tagline...I have a “FUBO” T-shirt and wear it proudly.
I have the ovalone in the middle of my pick up trucks rear window.
Initially I wondered if anyone may throw a brick through it but so far NOpe. Right next to by Harley sticker and N.R.A. sticker.
MDGVT is IN DA’HOUSE!!!
“ORRRRR you are an old fat hairy Italian guy from Brooklyn.”
LOL, no. I’M an old, fat, hairy Italian guy from Brooklyn. Originally. Staten Island, now.
Anyway, you elect a guy to represent his district by following the dictates of his own conscience - not to poll his constituency on every issue and vote with the majority. That would be tyranny.
The remedy for a Representative who does not, well, represent his district is to vote him out. The worst you can wind up with is a two-year mistake, albeit a lot of damage can be done in this two-year stint.
I’m from Rochester, and I will call that Rat Bastard Walz’s office again (for the 200th time or so), and rail on whoever answers the phone. I no longer care if I’m civil or not to these commie RAT bastards. The demoRATs should all be hanging from the gallows for high crimes & treason, or at the very least sentenced to 50 years in prison. Every single RAT bastard demoRAT at the local, state but especially the federal level.
If I hadn’t just done a hull job on my sailboat I’d go for the keel Hauling. Lots of barnicles.
Hey!
It could happen.
Just a reminder of Walz’s poor judgment in legislative matters
Why are powerful leftists operating totally in secret?
Because theyre afraid that if the American people saw what they were doing, they would come to Washington D.C. en masse with pitchforks and torches.
Thats why Obama, Pelosi and Reid have chosen to meet behind closed-doors, out of sight from the American people, as they seek to shove a 2500-page-plus monster down each of our throats, one page at a time.
In a sudden bout of honesty last week, Pelosi herself said as much when she told CBS News: The House and Senate plan [is] to put together the final health care reform bill behind closed doors according to an agreement by top Democrats.
In other words, after days of spewing laughable tales of how open and transparent the legislative process on health care has been, Speaker Pelosi decided to be open and transparent about how non-transparently Congressional Democrats plan to move forward in their efforts to pass ObamaCare.
Remember, it was Pelosi who has stated that she will do whatever it takes to pass ObamaCare.
You already know about the bribes the Louisiana Purchase, the Cornhusker Kickback, the 100 million in taxpayer dollars for Senator Chris Dodds hospital, the Medicare Advantage benefits for seniors that Florida Senator Bill Nelson got mostly for just three Florida counties (what about seniors in the rest of the state and the country who stand to lose their benefits under ObamaCare?), and so on... and so on....
You already know about Pelosi and Reids false promises about presiding over the most open, honest and ethical Congress in history.
Its no wonder that nearly 60% of the American people do not approve of the way that Obama is handling the health care issue, according to the most recent Gallup poll. Even CNN recently reported that the news for Obama is even worse. The headline reads: CNN Poll: 61% of Americans oppose Senate Health Care Bill.
Perhaps the only ones who still support ObamaCare are Obama, Pelosi, Reid and those fanatical leftists who probably received Che Guevara tee-shirts for Christmas.
We need to remind our elected officials that the vast majority of Americans detest ObamaCare. And, your urgent, personalized blast faxes can help ensure its defeat.
