Haitian Voodoo
YouTube ^

Posted on 01/14/2010 8:58:04 PM PST by T.L.Sink

Roman Catholicism may be the nominal faith in Haiti but voodoo is the true national religion. Closely related to this is the common practice of santeria, animal sacrifice. The most egregious African superstitions have merged with a superficial and distorted version of Christianity to produce a primordial blend of arrant nonsense that has created a cult of barbarism. Haiti is not the most impoverished and backward nation in the Western hemisphere simply by happenstance. It remains, as it always has, beyond the pale of civilization. And all the romanticizing of the Haitian people by the MSM won't change that reality.

And now Obama has pledged not only relief for Haitians who are suffering from the earthquake catastrophe, which is only humanitarian and commendable - but $100 million! That preposterous some will be on top an already national deficit and debt that spans the next two generations.

We are all sinners, and we all deserve destruction. But some folks do thumb their nose at God more than others ...

Boy, sure sucks to be us! Sitting here, browsing the web in our undemolished homes, drinking potable water, and calling some 7-year-old crushed to death in his schoolroom a barbarian.

...and calling some 7-year-old crushed to death in his schoolroom a barbarian.

I don't see anyone here doing that, and if you don't want to discuss the relationship between a nation's culture and their ability to survive natural disasters then there are other threads.

God bless these poor Haitians. They’re suffered mightily and don’t deserve this kind talk right now.

We should let them die to show Jesus how much we’re willing to sacrifice in his name.

Interesting video. Voodoo is playing with fire. Without a strong connection to the Lord, called “charity”, and without a solid education in Scripture and Tradition, called “theology”, a person who pretends to contact spirits is immature and is playing with fire. Voodoo is the uneducated view of psychology and religion. Sad that is still exists.

I agree, Robertson is right. And if I may be so cruel and hard hearted; you can’t worship Satan through the good times and when trouble comes, expect God to come to your rescue.

Joshua said it very plainly. “Choose ye this day whom ye will serve; If God, then worship God. And if Satan, then worship him. But either choice will have ETERNAL consequences.

As for the innocent children; more scripture. The sins of the fathers will be visited upon the children unto the third and fourth generation. God is not a pollyanna or a patsy for ANYONE!

God in His love and mercy has provided a Saviour for mankind; Jesus Christ, the Lord of Glory, the Second Person of the Trinity. Salvation is free, but it wasn’t cheap. God gave His Only Begotten Son as a Sacrifice to pay for it. All one need do is call on his Name and they’ll receive a “season ticket”.

John 3:18 He that believeth on Him (Christ) is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the Name of the only begotten Son of God.

1Ti 2:5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Act 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

I might add, while thinking about the innocent children who perished in that calamity; every innocent child who has not reached the age or mentality of accountability has automatic Salvation. IMHO, the children who perished in the Haitian earthquake are in Heaven, and therefore, a heap better off than they would EVER be in Haiti.

I think we who trust in Christ....especially from a country which has killed by ABORTION FAR MORE of her own children, than the people the Nazis ever killed (45,000,000 abortions in the USA and counting) should be very careful in claiming to KNOW when God has judged another nation.

Yes, I know, Haiti is THE CENTER of Voodoo witchcraft in the world—and is one of the poorest countries in the world too. I sincerely doubt though, they’ve killed millions of their own children though by abortion...AS WE IN THE USA HAVE. For all the evil done by the witch doctors in Haiti....our own Doctors (and lawyers and politicians, and preachers, and professors, and....) have done far more evil things.

I believe our attitude toward natural disasters should be like that of our Lord Jesus:

“Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them—do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem? I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.” (Luke 13:4,5)

What we in the USA should ponder is: PERHAPS WE’RE NEXT!

No, it's not the end of the story or even THE story -- the story is that "tectonic plates moved big time" as they have always and will continue to do all over the planet, but that it was far more damaging to Haiti than it was to the neighboring Dominican Republic or than it would have been in Los Angeles or San Francisco. Haiti is suffering more because of its failed infrastructure and corrupt, barbaric culture than because of the earthquake.

If a 7.0 hit Southern California, there'd be a LOT of damage, many deaths, and possibly even some anarchy, but NOTHING along the lines of the structural disaster, death, and misery as is happening in Haiti.

Your post is absolutely right on, and scary.

Robertson declaring that the earthquake is God's judgement serves zero purpose unless it is to warn Christians about the vanity of some preachers. For one to wonder in private if the earthquake was directed by God's wrath is human nature, humbling, and probably wise to ponder; for a man of the cloth to publicly declare that it was is disgustingly presumptuous.

and it’s probably time for Haiti to start re-growing rice @export rate along w/sugarcane-instead of their fields laying fallow & depending on the US for handouts.

The other thing i’d like to bring up is I don’t believe the ‘bamster&staff understand the chain of command in emergencies like this outside the continental U.S.

He sends in the United States Marines who are really a elite corp of individuals outside of the US?

What happened?

Did his dialing finger break upon calling the UN FORCES first?

oh, i get it!me & my silly little mind thinking the ‘bam wants global approval /sarc

What the several passages in the gospel on the connection between sin and suffering seem to say is: Don’t worry about illness, or natural disaster, or getting crushed by a tower, etc. If you are a sinner, something worse will happen to you: You will go to Hell.

No one knows which ones will be next — DUH — and it is beside the point. We DO know which cities and nations will suffer more damage and chaos afterward from such quakes. A 4.6 in Los Angeles would be barely enough to sneeze at; a 4.6 in a third-world nation will result in many times more the death and destruction.
