Glenn Beck and Sarah Palin on John McCain and Republicans
youtube/FNC/Glenn beck ^ | January 13, 2010 | sickoflibs/Glenn Beck

Glenn Beck:”It killed me to vote for John McCain. I voted for John McCain because of you. John McCain is a progressive…...he is for big government, for the bank bailouts, health care, he’s for all of it.

Sarah Palin : “Look what he’s doing now though. He and a lot of other politicians are saying ‘HMMM. Maybe that more progressive road we were on is not accepted by the electorate anymore’ and that’s why you see poll numbers changing. That’s why you see pressure from the tea party movements, from others wanting ‘common sense conservative values ushered back in. Look at what he’s doing now. He’s the one leading the fight against the government taking over health care.

Glenn Beck:”I don’t believe any of these people anymore. When they lost in 2006 because they were big spenders and they violated everything they said they were going to do. That was the time to come out and say ‘I was lost. I got caught lying cheating and stealing. I get it. Then they lost with John McCain. When they come out now so close to an election, why should I as a voter believe them?

Sarah Palin :”A lot of voters won’t believe they have changed in their thinking or the policies they want to see implemented…

Sorry... These days, I think we are past those political times (probably wistful thinking). It is time that honesty rules! I really believe that anyone that runs without the “political” crap will have a better chance to win over the people. I think that most are really tired of political positions on every statement (and of course watching every word).

Give us honesty (for a change) or go away... Me, I’m damn tired of politicians - just give me an honest farmer to vote for...

I was not impressed by his rant against the Birthers the other day. I can understand that he would get annoyed if they flooded his phones during the show, but that’s no excuse for what he said. He was basically attacking his own natural base. And there ARE plenty of reasons to question Obama’s identity.

I don’t know that he does it deliberately, and since I haven’t ever actually heard his show—I’ve just read many reports on what he has said—I don’t want to be unfair to him.

But I think there’s some danger that he will encourage some wrong ideas. Much like Ron Paul. I agree with much of what Paul has said, especially on the Federal Reserve, and he’s very useful as a congressman. But he’s never going to contribute anything helpful to a presidential race.

I don’t think we have enough of a track record yet to be sure about Beck. But asking Sarah to attack McCain was a destructive and silly thing to do.

She will!...all in due time....

First u have to use stealth and stalk your prey..

its a long ways from ‘12....Sarah is setting herself up for a killing “shot” at 2012

(Let the “undecided and uninformed” get to know her common sense approach...see her as fair and reasonable...She’ll need their vote too)

Sorry, having Republicans in the majority did us absolutely no good. You on the other hand think that bringing them back into power will solve our problems (maybe)... I have seen this game played too long to be taken in again. Either we elect conservatives and Constitutionalists into positions of power or we give it up. The Republican brand is just a party - hosting many ideas. I want Republicans in power that believe in the Constitution and will fight to carry out those beliefs. If that does not work, I want another party!

Sorry...not what I’m looking for in a politician. I want truth all the time - no political crap. Be yourself and be honest and they will take the country by storm.

Hunter has it in spades

Hunter is a good man. Unfortunately he might get as much as 2% in the primaries this time.........

I like Hunter. He would have been my first choice in 2008, but he never caught fire.

I like the Detroit Lions. But liking the Lions isn't going to get them to the Super Bowl (or even a winning season). Liking Hunter isn't going to make him a competitive Presidential candidate.

In the Michigan primary Hunter came in 8th (behind uncommitted).

In the 14 months since the election, I have not seen Hunter or heard from him once. That says a lot. Wishing for something won't necessarily make it come true.

There really is a difference between attacking McCain and telling the truth (with a smile)...

Definitely worse! The real problem is that the Republicans would only be slightly better. Well, maybe a lot better than this Socialist dictator but blame the stupid voters for that.

In reasonable times, Republicans are only slightly better..and still ignore the Constitution.

Well, we can always hope that America is ready for the real deal instead of an double talking RINO this time.

Hunter/DeMint. It can’t be improved upon.

Please pissant, stop attacking everbody who’s last name is not HUNTER... You did it last time, your doing it again this time. Besides, I’ll be you dollars to doughnuts NOBODY named hunter is going to run in 2012! So at least stop attacking everybody until a hunter actually decides to run..

I agree. If Hunter were planning on running, he would be on FNC, the talk radio circuit, writing op-eds, speaking out on the issues, etc. I have seen none of this.

Republicans would only be slightly better

Please answer:

1. Would the Republicans be ramming down this monster health care bill?
2. Would they have apologized dozens of times to the world for our sins?
3. Would they have set such a horrid precedent about not caring about the war on Islam-fascists?
4. Would they have tried to pass cap and trade?
5. Would they have outspent the Bush years in one year?
6. Would they be focusing on "green jobs"?
7. Would they have undone the prohibition against using taxpayer money for abortions?

That's a short list, and just a start.

That’s the problem. Waiting for others to start the fire.

I’ve been doing my part to ensure the fire is already smoldering - as has Hunter.

I like Hunter. He's a good man, and I wish this were not true.

He'll never poll beyond 2%.

And that's in the primaries.

I suppose I should have been more precise. I meant to say all Democrats in Congress, not all registered Democrats.

There are lots and lots of conservative Democrats.

Possibly so but, if so, why do they continue to elect radical liberals?

It's just that they hate what the Republicans have become more.

And what would that be about Republicans that conservative Democrats would hate? If they hate that some Republicans are not as conservative as they would like, those Republicans are still more conservative than their Democrat opponents. So where does that leave your point?

Ask yourself this: How did Reagan win Massachusetts twice?

By being his conservative self and ignoring all those "political consultants" urging him to move to the left to attract those undecided "moderates."

If you understand that, then you understand why the GOP is dying. If you don't, then you're probably mystified by national politics.

I admit to not being nearly as sophisticated as you but the above line is my opinion of what is wrong with the Republicans. They are listening to people who are destroying them. If they are, and stay, conservative then those moderates will flock to them. They need to move right rather than left and I think they will.

I think the Republicans will make a comeback by becoming more conservative. Regardless, they are our best hope against the Socialists/Communists/Democrats in office now.

You might want to read through the comments to determine who is attacking who. And your damn right I’ll attack if we get a bunch of RINO pushers here again.

We’ll see. All I can say is if we get stuck with another RINO we will lose again, deservedly so.
