Politics: With the Massachusetts Senate race in a dead heat, the Service Employees International Union makes a massive ad buy for a Democrat raising money from lobbyists. Sorry, Sen. Kerry, but the tea party's coming.
Having received a tsunami warning, the purple shirts of the SEIU have sprung into action with a major ad buy trying to pull the Senate candidacy of Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley from the jaws of defeat.
The buy size of $685,000, extracted from the union dues of not-always-willing workers, is one of the biggest of the election.
The ads note that Republican Scott Brown is pro-life and that he "expresses skepticism that climate change is caused by humans."
In an interesting twist, the narrator of the 30-second spot solemnly intones: "No wonder Brown's campaign is being supported by the same extremist group that backs Sarah Palin."
That would be the Tea Party. Palin, who recently joined the equally despised Fox News as a contributor, is set to headline the first-ever Tea Party Convention next month in Nashville, Tenn. Some would call this good old-fashioned community organizing.
SEIU head Andy Stern, who we have noted is the most frequent visitor to the White House, has led his union's furious fight for government-run health care.

If a member of a hiring committee at ANY college campus said:
“We should select applicant ‘X’ to be our next college President because, first, he isn’t a really dark black person, and second - he doesn’t sound that black when he speaks”
— that person would be immediately investigated by the campus Compliance/Diversity Office and Administration, and terminated within a year.
ANY college. ANY university. IMMEDIATELY terminated.
And -—— who TALKS LIKE THIS!? What, is Reid a complete racist idiot??

I will be disappointed if we lose this one - but hey the dems are spending millions that they never thought they’d have to.

I would think he is. After all the Democrat Party has proved through time they are the party of racists.

Brown should hang the SEIU garbage around Coakly’s neck like an anchor. He should run an add showing the purple shirted riffraff attacking disabled minorities and acting like pigs.

Too late, it is boiling down to a GOTV effort now, and there seem to be some very encouraging figures for absentee ballots from relatively white, working/middle class areas. This is probably really good news for Brown. Also, there is a mini “scandal” brewing over Coakley’s office threatening local garden clubs (no kidding) for not filing proper financial disclosures. The past few days have not been kind to her; she looks silly & petty now in addition to her normally arrogant behavior. It’s not a pretty sight to behold.

Wish I could post it-the story about the reporter “falling” is in today’s Telegram&Gazette (Worcester MA) and it is just unbelievable.
Basically, he tripped and one of her supporters was helping him up!

I thought the contributions had to come from a PAC fund as unions dues are non-profit status and therefore must be non-partisan? yes?
