Not to be a noodge but what is unearned income?

If I rob a 7-11 I have to report my take and pay taxes on it?

How about income that could have been earned? Like, you know... if you had done your homework every night, gone to college, gotten a good job, supported yourself, not lived on the public dole... that kind of thing. What about that unearned income? Wouldn't taxing that be fair too? I mean, as long as we're talking about concepts like "fair."

They will tax anything they can get their hands on rather than cut any spending and pork. They will force a tax revolt one of these days and it won’t be pretty. 51% of our people work for some type of government. The other 49% of the people have to pay for it. Where does it stop?

I wonder how long it will be before one of these commie SOBs comes right out and says what they really want: to confiscate all private wealth and real property (Except, of course, that belonging to the ruling elites)

You dumbass demoRAT, unearned (or investment income) IS taxed already when the income is realized, bought or sold. What, does this dumbass think that we should tax the paper gains? What about the paper losses? Can we write those off before the stock or bonds or investment is sold? Typical dumb ass demoRAT who is clueless on taxes or income and unfortunately these bastards are the ones making UP the laws for taxes & spending. Let the Revolution begin NOW!!! Throw these bastard demoRATs & Rino repubs into prison for the next 50 years, including the chief usurper, 0bozo the commie pig!!!

Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet

Taxman!
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman

Don’t ask me what I want it for (Aahh Mr. Wilson)
If you don’t want to pay some more (Aahh Mr. Heath)
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

Now my advice for those who die
Declare the pennies on your eyes
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman

And you’re working for no one but me
Taxman!

- The Beatles circa 1967

We should look into a special tax on elected officials and political contributions

Actually, yes... drug dealing, robbery, etc. are covered in the tax code. You are expected to report that income.

Tax unearned income and
Count indigenous immigrants
So unConstitutional Pols
Can lavish money we don’t have
on undocumented citizens
for the health care
which will be better than
what the actors, union and pols
don’t want to give up
for the good of all

When Democrats say "unearned income," they are thinking "undeserved income."

I tend to agree that benefits should be taxed. Favorable tax status for employer provided benefits is part of the problem. It created the perception that health care is free and created more distance between the payer and the receiver of the service. Rather than have employeer buy the insurance for their employees, if people paid for health insurance like they do for car and home, new markets would develop and competition would make things cheaper over time.

Anyone remember the Clintons wanting to tax “imputed income”. The example given is: If you own your home, the Government would determine what you could rent it for and take the difference in you mortgage payment and the rent for the year. Thats your imputed income and you would pay tax on it as if it was income. So if you owned the home with no mortgage, the imputed income is what the rent for a year is.

“51% of our people work for some type of government. The other 49% of the people have to pay for it.”

It is probably worse than that. The government sponsored worker is more than the police, fireman, bureaucrat, or staffer in congress. They are the road crew worker, the defense contractor, the farmer with a government subsidy, the CPA who spends their day working the tax forms for their clients. I believe that their may only be three people left in the entire country that don't work for the government in one way or the other and I am one of them.
