President Obama will address the House Republican Conference later this month during their retreat in Baltimore, being held Jan. 28th to 30th.
Obama was invited by the elected GOP Leadership to speak a few weeks ago and will take them up on their offer. ...
Despite that gracious tone, House Minority Whip Eric Cantor wrote this morning in a statement:
Though its welcome news that President Obama will speak with House Republicans later this month, it is important to point out that true bipartisanship requires working together on common-sense solutions and a mainstream agenda to help Americans facing difficult challenges. It is important to ask whether the President plans to meet WITH Republicans, or speak TO them. In 2009, on the rare occasion when we were invited to the White House, the President paid Republican proposals lip service while the cameras were on, only to completely rebuff those ideas afterward. The problems faced by our country have grown too large for the President to respond to Republican and Independent views and solutions with indifference, like in 2009. I hope this is a sign that a new year will bring change.

We are told by many here that Republicans winning is the #1 objective, Republicans being worth a crap is the #2 objective. So it would make sense to take Obama to the R party side to get the White House back. Then as Mark Levin said about McCain: “We can fight him as a Republican President after we get him elected”
We All Be Gettin’ IT!
BOHICA
When Democrats circle the wagons, at least they shoot outward. Sadly, the same can’t be said for the “not ready for prime time” check-pants country club loser Republicans. Feh.
The correct term would be that he's speaking "TO the conference" or else he is speaking "AT the retreat." "The conference" in this case refers to a group of people not an event.
PS: Why is it that everybody undertands that we’re in a Constitutional/Culture war except for the Republicans?
And not all the same kind, but an assortment.
“They think this invite will demonstrate to the American people they are not obstructionists but committed to bi-partisanship”
I will vote against any politition that says that they will try to be bi-partisan!!!
