I thought this event was canceled? Or was that just the San Antonio event?
Anyone who wants a third party needs to review what Ross Perot brought on us. And I think it is interesting that this writer believes Sarah Palin is too dumb to figure out whether an event and its organizers are legit.

Tea Party is not a monolith. Its made up of many ppl of different views and background
Ruining herself for what? She can be a spokeswoman and advocate for conservative causes but she is not electable to the WH. It would be a huge mistake to think you could ever get past the media clutter and talk issues.
As appearance fees go $500 is basically nothing, local celebrities get $500 appearance fees, died in the episode teaser Star Trek extras get $500 appearance fees.
Wait a minute!
You mean that nice man from Nigeria is NOT going to be sending me a million dollars?
The bigger the task, the more money needed, and some of it will probably be pissed away, but that's the way it goes.
I don’t believe Sarah Palin is making people pay 500 bucks, its the event itself that is charging people
No one ever heard of most of the Founding Fathers either. Until they established the greatest country in the history of the planet.
Info from HotAir:
Eagle Publishing, owner of Redstate.com and Regnery, among other things is a sponsor of CPAC.
She is no charging anybody anything to stay in any hotel. She is an invited speaker to a convention. How the convention is financed is not her business. No one has to pay to atend a convention if they don’t want to.
Wait a sec. Where was all the faux outrage when the former event was being planned in San Antonio by a group of shady tea partyers whom we know very little about, etc etc?
Their prices were actually more than $500.00 per person, and they were definitely in over their heads.
The Nashville group are the ones who have been behind a whisper campaign to discredit the first group.
Of course!
The small thinking by Erick Erickson and some other Red Staters ignores the fact that conservatives are in a major war against leftist socialist Democrats who are determined to destroy America.
This war effort needs from our side:
1) a charismatic popular national leader,
2) a helluva lot of money — as in a billion dollars,
3) focus and committment to WIN, not to be an also ran liberal Republican,
4) a helluva lot of support from moderate conservatives rather than just the extreme right.
Criticizing $500 fees and, eventually, $500 per plate dinners is one of the ways small thinking conservatives will again clutch defeat from the jaws of victory.
Palin should attend both CPAC and the Nashville Tea Party Convention.
As for the $500 entrance fee for the Tea Party Convention, the TPs are all about supporting free markets. If the price is too steep for you, then don’t attend. Keep in mind, attending CPAC is expensive as well.
what a woman sarah palin is, doing what God tells her to do with no regard for herself. It would seem that some people do not want a conservative party. A good strong party rquires money, especially a party that threatens the evil opposition we face today. GO SARAH! I will be glad to contribute aby time!
When individual rights (for you AND other individuals) are protected in law, the practice of free market capitalism is as moral as it gets. ... and I bet she could easily get more than $500 per!
Well, I don’t know the organization, but let me speak to one issue.
This article makes it a big issue that this is a “for profit” organization.
Well, under the tax laws, a “not for profit” organization isn’t allowed to run a political rally. The left gets away with it all the time, with the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, NARAL, and the like. But a conservative non-profit ain’t gonna be allowed to get involved in politics. And this Tea Party convention is all about politics.
So, of course it’s not a non-profit organization. It can’t be.
Is there a reason you only posted a snip from this blog? Why not post the entire article so people can get the entire flavor what was written if they so choose without having to click through?
