Somebody owes Rush Limbaugh a big apology. Remember all the flak he took over his 'Barack The Magic Negro' parody--which was riffing off an LA Times op-ed by a black author which used the same term?
Turns out, using "Negro" isn't objectionable. Don't take my word for it. Ask Rep. James Clyburn, former Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus and current House Majority Whip.
Clyburn made his surprising statement on this evening's Ed Show in the course of defending Harry Reid's "negro dialect" dictum.

Until today, I had never heard of the term "negro dialect". That must be the new term for "ebonics".
When it comes to dialects, I heard plenty of them in four years in Germany (when it was West Germany). In an area the size of Oregon, there were some 14 different dialects, ranging from a very precise Hoch Deutsch (High German) in Northern Germany, to a less constrained Hunsrucker Deutsch in the Mosel-Saar-Ruwer region.
I have noticed that he does that very thing. Guess it makes him bilingual. At least he does a better job speaking the N-dialect than Hillary, who sounds very condescending whenever she speaks it.
Not a damn thing, negro!
And I'm assuming that we can finally drop that stupid 'african-american' BS and use 'negro' in it's place.

Here’s my take — the word should only be used for historic accuracy, and not used as a modern description.
Comedian blacks use the word, “negro”, in a very condescending and satirical way, as if to say, “You frigging racist.” Villains are the only white characters who use that word outside historic accuracy.
I ran a google excluding “2010” to see what the view was prior to the “Reid Negro” scandal. It is clearly a delicate word, just as Hollywood script writers always assumed:
