RICHMOND, Va. - Two Navy SEALs accused in the mistreatment of an Iraqi detainee will be tried in a U.S. military court in Iraq.
A military judge at Naval Station Norfolk on Monday moved the courts-martial of Petty Officer 2nd Class Jonathan Keefe and Petty Officer 1st Class Julio Huertas to Camp Victory, site of the alleged abuse. The trials are set for April.
Keefe and Huertas are accused of trying to cover up after a third SEAL allegedly punched an Iraqi suspected in a 2004 ambush that killed four U.S. security contractors.
Prosecutors said they would not bring the detainee to Norfolk to testify. The judge ruled Keefe and Huertas have the right to face their accuser.
The three SEALs have received an outpouring of public support, including the backing of several members of Congress.

Why, in God’s name, are they sending this trial to Iraq? This lunatic of a ‘commander-in-chief’ is killing the military, one way or another!
It’s simple to understand. In the Obamanation, punch a scumbag terrorist during his arrest and get a kangaroo court in a foreign land far from reporters’ meddling. Kill Americans in a sneak attack and you get free legal counsel, a show trial in NYC, and all the state-run media sycophants you could possibly want.
In better times, Obama and his posse would have been called “traitors”, but today we just call them “democrats”.
“I am not understanding this at all....’
Probably because of witness availability.
We got 'Change' alright.
Wonder how Rainbow Six would feel about this.
I’m also remembering an interesting book called “Without Remorse”.
I know it’s just fiction and all, but still...
The way I read it, their still getting a U.S. military trail, just in Iraq.
SHAMEFUL! Hero’s fighting these animals put on trial while criminals run rampant in DC.
Here is another article on it:

‘Without Remorse’ is my 2nd favorite book behind only ‘Ender’s Game.’
im disgusted by the entire thing...im tired of our troops being treated like enemy
We got 'Change' alright.
Excellent point!
I was shocked at how good “ender’s game” was, even though I was anticipating what was actually going on way before the end. It was very enjoyable. And I was 50 when I read it! ;)
And I agree on the Clancy book as well. My favorite.
You are far from the first to notice the similarities. See this thread on FR.
