LA Times: It's not Harry Reid who should be apologizing
LA Times ^ | January 11, 2009 | Sandy Banks

The Senate majority leader didn't say anything many Americans -- especially us Negroes -- don't already know. If you're black, it is easier in this country to be light-skinned.

If anyone is insulted, it should be whites -- whom Reid accused implicitly of being willing to vote for a black man only if he talks like them and is not too black.

I think the next apology ought to come from Michael Steele -- the light-skinned, dialectically flexible African American head of the Republican National Committee.

Either Steele is playing politics with a combustible case, or he thinks Americans are so incapable of thinking intelligently about race that we can't tell the difference between Lott and Reid.

Now that offends me.

hmmm, what does this joker define as “light skinned?”

Perhaps he meant “thin skinned”

The Democrat head of the senate makes a statement which he regreets and for which he apologizes -- and the takeaway is:

Republicans should apologize for offending this journalist.

Got it?

Americans are so incapable of thinking intelligently about race that we can’t tell the difference between Lott and Reid.

Sure we can, one is a republican the other is a democrat.
A republican must be thrown out, a democrat gets excused.

I’m waiting for Reid and Byrd to show up in Klansman outfits singing “Let My People Go” for the next Senate get together, should be a hoot IMO!

I see the “color” of the authors character and I don't like what I see. Yes, there are racists that diss their own race. I hope some isolated naive liberals out there are taking notes.

Americans didn’t vote for a black man or a half black man, or a half white man or for any man for that matter. They voted against a man and that just happened to enable a certain light skinned negro to become President. Americans were voting against George Bush when they voted against John McCain. We all saw it coming. Who among us seriously thought McCain had a snowball’s chance in hell of winning? I sure didn’t. American voters were pi**ed and that means the incumbent party is gonna suffer their wrath. Big shock. Furthermore, if you want to evaluate the racism of the last election, take a look at the Democratic primaries where 95% of the negroes somehow thought that Barack Obama was a “more qualified” candidate than any of the dozen or so other candidates running a against him despite his complete lack of experience in anything (other than being a “light skinned negro”).

The democrat wants to give your group something for nothing, so he must be excused.

The republican inherently wants you to play by the same rules as everyone else and earn what you get, so he must be condemned.

Easy to understand.

Sandy is just showing her editors that she is a disciplined Marxist - she was able to get the word "dialectical" into the column twice.

Cordially,

Actually, she is correct. Harry Reid insults all Americans. And yes Michael Steele is playing politics with this, he is simply using the rules established by the Democrats. And what is wrong with that? Republicans are tired of rules applying only to Republicans. Screw the racist, race-baiting, race-obsessed, race-classifying, racist record of the Democrat Party, which supported slavery, opposed victory in the Civil War, instituted Jim Crow, instituted segregation, instituted racial quotas. That is the Democrat Party. So, Harry Reid's statement should be seen in this context.

Conclusion: Reid is racist, racist, racist.

Well at least Harry Reid didn’t use the term “High Yellow” in reference to the the Son OBama.

I think it was hotair.com that had a link where you could go back and see some not-so-nice things that Reid had to say about Clarence Thomas.

Reid is going under the bus. Pay no attention to what this marxist sympathizing drone says. She just thinks she will get a place in the house with all the elites when the work camps start...the racist commies call people like this useful idiots.

Ah, but the negro woman demonstrates a point: Liberal-Left-Democrat Party sensitivities go out the window if it’s one of their own who shows bigoted or racist tendencies.
