WASHINGTON – The Republican Party's national chairman says he's had no thoughts of resigning despite criticism of his first-year performance and controversy about his recent book that takes shots at the GOP.

Michael Steele is apologizing for not alerting Republicans in advance about the book's release. In the book, he accuses GOP leaders of abandoning conservative principles over the past decade.

Steele also is defending his record as party chairman, saying he's "pushing the ball" for the GOP and helping the party win elections and raise money.

OMG — the biggest RINO we have has the audacity to say that. I assume that fits snugly into what we call “irony.”

I don’t think he needs to resign. He can redeem himself from some of the dumb things he’s said by beating up Reid some more.

Don’t blame me. I supported Ken Blackwell, an actual conservative.

Just curious - who hired Steele in the first place? Who decides whether he keeps his job or not? How does that whole process work? Does anyone know?

I'm thinking of giving money to DeMint instead of the RNC.

Just another small egotist. The GOP should NOW be gathering the force of a killer hurricane, but a thin, timid popcorn fart seems to be the maximum capacity of this empty suit.

Wow, what a shock, AP writing a hit piece on Michael Steele in a pathetic attempt to divert attention from Reid’s racist remarks. I’m speechless. (s

It’s becoming clear that conservatives represent “them” to Michael Steele, and not “us.” He view us as an “other” to be placated by symbols and platitudes, but his heart lies elsewhere.

Where have we actually seen passion from this man? I think I know the answer. He’s got the Colin Powell disease. He places race above ideals.

Dede Schifosa (Feminine form of schifoso. def: 1. disgusting, loathsome, lousy, crappy, stinking, filthy, rotten)is a State Assembly person in the district. Steele, not knowing her voting record or history went with the candidate who the local party establishment went with, because they thought she would be malleable. Bad move.

Steele needs to become more aggressive. Don’t be content to let the democRATS implode. Force them. Start calling them communists, and fascists and traitors. Say that this health care bill is theft of our rights, and on, and on.

If he’s not willing to step up, then he needs to step down.

“GOP chairman (Michael Steele) says he has no thoughts of resigning”

Then get him outta there some other way. He’s not the leader the GOP needs.

An observation: This coming election cycle the Left is already warming up the race card. The seeds are being sowed as we speak in every forum the Left can think they will want them to grow for their cause. RINO’s are of the Left, and we must not lose sight of their loyalty to Leftist causes. That race card is dusted off, and polished in the RNC headquarters waiting for the first opportunity to throw it out in real Conservative’s faces.

Michael Steele is no Conservative as he makes himself out to be, or he wouldn’t be appeasing Leftist points of view.

Michael Steele may think he’s Conservative by the center/ right definition the Left has slow-cooked as the description of Conservatism, but you know, and I know that’s a crock.

end rant.

"I'm thinking of giving money to DeMint instead of the RNC."

I think it is a great idea to simply bypass the RNC for all donations. Give directly to the candidates you support. The RNC has proven that they can not spend their\our money wisely.

Micahel Steele is an absolute idiot, and a Liberal. People like Mark Levin and Sean Hannity, who have pushed Steele and his book...are of the same ilk

The GOP cannot win elections by running...or being led...by Liberal RINOs. Steele has to go, and go now
