Although he didnt have politics in mind, marketing provocateur Seth Godin wrote on his blog:
How can we get large groups of people to value our craft and buy from us again? In terms of educating the masses to differentiate yourself, the market is broken. Fixing this is almost always a losing battle. Just because youre good at something doesnt mean the market cares any longer. Its extremely difficult to repair the market.
Politics get mass-marketed, and niche-marketed, and permission-marketed. But whats the product? Is it a politician, an ideology, a vision for the future, a body of policy expertise?
As we survey the landscape in January 2010, with Democrat-dominated legislative and executive branches at the federal level and far too many states, perhaps Republicans need to ask:
Where has the market gone?
The GOP needs to join the Tea Party movement and “get” conservative...
Fire Steele. Hire Sarah. Watch the GOP rise from the dead.
I agree. I think the more to the center our candidates go, the less they are supported by the base. A true blood conservative will energize the base in a way that hasn’t been seen in a long time.

I totally agree! The “market” is telling us that the Tea Party folks are where the ideas are and where the action is. The GOP should get out in front and lead the parade. GOP resources and Tea Party fervor would be an unstoppable juggernaut going into November. To show they mean business, the GOP should sign up Sarahcudda and go for the jugular.
Name the last 5 RNC Chairs?
Hard to do, is it not?
Steele makes mistakes, but I think the rest of us make an even bigger mistake, on thinking that Steele’s position is that important!
The market has moved right. Sad that the GOP is reluctant to do the same.
Someone needs to stay on message and hammer the Democrats. Sarah could do that for us, as there is a woeful lack of LEADERSHIP in the higher eschelons of the GOP.
But, getting the GOP to all move in one direction has always been like herding cats. That’s part of our charm, I guess. It doesn’t get us anywhere and it never stops the ‘Rats, but it’s charming. *SMIRK*
Moving to the center would be a rightward move for the current party.
Sad but true.
Name leader one that is under 60 years old, can't huh? Therein lies the problem, those old mossbacks are comfortable in the minority, because the perks are endless.
ps, most of those leaders are younger than me.
Term Limits. Now.
(Yeah...like they’ll ever vote for THAT, LOL!)
