Obama Tries to Turn Focus to Jobs, if Other Events Allow (New York Times LOL alert)
New York Times ^ | January 10, 2010 | Jackie Calmes

President Obama keeps trying to turn attention to “jobs, jobs, jobs,” as his chief of staff has put it. But he is finding that it can be hard to focus on any one issue when so many demand attention, often unexpectedly. And as the lackluster employment report on Friday suggested, showing concern is not the same as showing results.

The president and his party have now entered a midterm election year in which they expect to lose seats in Congress after big gains in the last two cycles. Just how many they lose will probably hinge more on pocketbook politics than on any other issue: whether voters believe the still-sluggish economy, as evidenced by the jobless rate, is reviving, and whether Mr. Obama and Congressional Democrats deserve credit or blame.

The employment situation is only the most visible of the economic policy challenges that Mr. Obama faces.

But the measures by which voters are most likely to judge his success are the unemployment rate and the pace of job creation. So after an inaugural year in which Mr. Obama was absorbed in the overhaul of the health care insurance system and by a prolonged internal debate over a military buildup in Afghanistan, the White House has been trying to orchestrate a shift to showcase Mr. Obama as concerned and focused on doing everything within his power to create jobs.

But the employment report for December, which showed further job losses instead of the hoped-for gains, suggested that time might be running out for Democrats to show significant progress before voters start making up their minds — say, by summer.

Meanwhile, the world keeps intruding as Mr. Obama tries to execute his promised pivot.

The Big Wee Wee is so busy saving the world and fighting terrorism he doesn't have time to work on helping the economy -- so it's not his fault if the Rats take a hit in the 2010 election.

Everthing will be fine just as soon as the government starts us all building solar panels and windmills.

Really.

What the?

“he is finding that it can be hard to focus on any one issue when so many demand attention”

When he is not eating “Snowbama’s” he should be taking time to make “Jobamas” or create the environment for small business to hire his minions by the truck load.

Wonder if we will all be standing in front of Home Depot begging for our subsistence?

zer0 hasn't learned that you're actually supposed to talk business when you take those little golf outings. All he ever talks is politics.

The only job he’s concerned about is his own.

Overheard at a White House cabinet meeting:

“I don’t get it. We should be adding millions of jobs every month. We’re taxing the fecal matter out of employers, and still they’re not hiring.”

“I’ll tell you what I think. I think it’s Bush and the Republicans, wrecking our pogroms on the sly.”

“he is finding that it can be hard to focus on any one issue when so many demand attention”

That cannot be true.

When McCain (foolishly) suspended his presidential campaign to rush back to DC to deal with the financial crisis, Obama bragged that he didn’t need to because he could multi-task.

What happened that he can no longer multi-task?

He’s as handicapped as his golf game.

Witness his attempt to combine Judo with Golf as he demonstrates the hip throw of his Crackberry while golfin(or taking strokes):

Liberals love to run down the military. To their way of thinking, military power is a holdover from a more primitive, macho, phallo-centric world. If only they can be in complete control, they'll do away with all that old-fashioned thinking and show the world how it should be done.

What Obammy is going to find out is this: the reason American presidents, Republican and Democrat, like to have a strong military is so they can get a few minutes a day to think about some problem other than foreign conflicts and going down in history as the president who lost Asia, or Europe. Or Alaska. Or Arizona.

The giggles from the press were worth the watch.

Do you know if he ever golfed before he won the title of president?

"Obama Tries to Turn Focus to Jobs, if Other Events Allow (New York Times LOL alert)"

TRANSLATION: obama is taking too much heat for terroism and needs a diversion.

Again, I will state that employers will not hire people until the government gets out of the way and makes hiring people advantageous to the employer.

JOB: When one person compensates another for performing a task or tasks.

NO JOB: When the Government places punitive taxation and regulation upon the person trying to provide employment to others.

You'd think even liberals could grasp these simple concepts.

No he’s not. His whole year as Pres. has been all about ramming centralized gov. power socialistic healthcare down public who does not want it and using tax-payer stiumuls bucks as payola for a few of his RAT party friends.

Meanwhile people were suffering increasingly as 2009 progressed as unemployment skyrocketed. That’s where Zero has been all the past year.... and that’s exactly where his priorities have been.

"President Obama keeps trying to turn attention to “jobs, jobs, jobs,..."

Really, and after only a year...what a guy!

Of course we all know this is utter Bull $hit

Let's see if I can grasp the logic here. A majority Marxist government rules a mostly Capitalist society. Nah, no possible problems there. in fact it's a wonder we're not awash with jobs, jobs, jobs. /s
