Democrats in Massachusetts, with Martha Coakleys blessing, have announced they will refuse to seat Senator Scott Brown should he win the January 19th special election to fill deceased murderer and womanizer Ted Kennedys Senate seat. Elections dont matter in Massachusetts, is apparently what Coakley herself believes. Ive already won and it doesnt matter what voters say. Scott Brown wont be acknowledged as Senator. This is the Kennedy Seat and now its mine.
This brings to mind what Harry Reid did to Senator Roland Burris a year ago, when he refused to seat him in the Senate as well. That time, it was because the current president didnt get his way and then-Governor Rod Blagojevich replaced Dr. Utopia in the Senate not with Valerie Jarrett, Utopias crony, but with longtime public servant Burris. Reid howled, and Senate Democrats swore not to acknowledge Burris and bar him from the Senate.

That would be PERFECT...and very effective, if he can get media coverage...besides Fox, of course.
KEEP UP THE HEAT!!!!
The Boyz have been receiving quite a bit of hate email from the ‘progressives’ on the left...especially since their linking of the ‘America Rising’ YouTube video.
Check out Legal Insurrection...Cornell Law Prof. Jacobson is tweeting from Brown HQ (there is a linky over there). Fascinating.
You think they’d really do it?
One big difference between Burris and Scott Brown. Burris bought his appointment and Brown will have been elected. Reid doesn’t have the balls to shun Brown out. He and the MA Sec. of State can try to delay as long as they can but not deny someone who was elected to the office....
Massachusetts Secretary of State William Galvin controls the certification process. He is up for relection this year.
We should let him know that the eyes of the nation are upon him. As a Mass. resident, I did so last night.
That’s the point. They want to delay his seating until they pass the healthcare bill because they already know he’ll vote against it. I don’t think anyone is saying that if he wins the election they’ll refuse FOREVER to seat him.
The Constitution crisis escalates. This could get interesting.
ObamaCare passes before Brown is seated. After Brown is seated, with 41 votes, Republicans shutdown senate business.
That would, indeed, be awesome.
Reid would have to put up some kind of fight because Lord eVader would be too angry otherwise.
Lord eVader would demand it.
Somehow I don’t see these Pomeranians suddenly turning into Mastiffs.
They are doing much better than the past several years, but they won’t do this.
Sweet revenge for Al Franken’s recount of infamy.
But first, brown has to win. And win with a margin that renders the possibility of recounting moot.
In many respects, this pic represents the American workplace.
GIVE EM HELL HARRY! ! ! ! ! ! !
Well, they had better, to show the “old days” of Republicans playing nice and rolling over are DONE.
One thing about the Hillbuzz guys* is that they promised last summer, that if by some miracle Obama won the general election, that they’d make him “pay.” Every day of his term, they would work to thwart anything he tried to do in retaliation for stealing the nomination from HRC. Clearly, they weren’t kidding.
If you go to the site and scroll back, you’ll see they have laid the Democratic playbook wide open, exposed all their tricks and explained to Republicans how to deal with them. They also have chastised us for giving up too easy, which I think is a fair criticism.
*for uninitiated FReepers, Hillbuzz is a site of gay, male, ticked-off moderate Democrats, HRC supporters. After the Dem Convention, the immediately began to campaign for McCain/Palin. They remain HUGE Sarah Palin fans to this day (they started the protests outside CBS against Letterman). They are based in Chicago, so they know these characters up front and personal.
Yep. pretty sure they certainly have the power, and they seem to have sold their soul.
“Thats the point. They want to delay his seating until they pass the healthcare bill because they already know hell vote against it. I dont think anyone is saying that if he wins the election theyll refuse FOREVER to seat him.”
I think with 99 Senators, they still need 60 votes to get past cloture. So not seating him would not help them.
“GIVE EM HELL HARRY!”
This is gettin; REIDICULOUS!
