Grammy Award-winning music artist Ray Stevens has recorded a song and video that is fast becoming the anthem of the Tea Party Movement.
We the People is about Obamacare and the health-care reform bills that have passed both houses of Congress.
The lyrics express a comic, but pointed warning to members of Congress: You vote Obamacare, were going to vote you out of there. We the People have awakened to your tricks. You vote to let this pass, youre going to be out on your (sound of foghorn). ...

To me, its pretty obvious that the government is doing a bunch of crap that we dont need and we dont want, and they dont care what we want theyre going to do it anyway. I think Ive heard it called progressive. I dont know whats progressive about it it seems like to me its stupid. Ray's THE man!

Very cute video.
I wish he would do one on Obama’s eligibility.

They could have just used the "We the People" from School House Rock. It is still the easiest way for me to remember the preamble.

I wuz hopin’ the anthem would be Ray’s “If 10-Percent Is Good Enough For Jesus (It Ought To Be Enough For Uncle Sam)” or Ray’s “Jack Daniels, You Lied To Me Again” ...

Cute song. I always like him. My kids, all adults now, still imitate him from “The Streak”.

Ray Stevens - now there's a guy who's been around for a long time.
Turns out he's smart, too.

OK, thanks, I was about to come in here and ask if this was the guy who did “The Streak.” Would that the movement’s “anthem” had a more respectable pedigree.

If you are intending to rip on Ray Stevens with your remarks, I hope you realize that he was making fun of streakers, not agreeing with them.

Ray needs to do something on TSA - Totally Safe Airlines, incorporate his famouse Streaker song.

Silly Bandit. People focusing on the School House Rock rendition will no doubt focus on the general “Welfare” clause, then stop wondering about what our constitution originally meant.

Well gee, that’s a load off my mind, thanks so much for clearing things up for me, it’s not at all embarrassing that the guy’s best known for a comedy song about a streaker as long as he didn’t intend it to be a heart-felt tribute to the joys of public nudity.
