One of his top trends: Neo-survivalism
Quote: In 2010, survivalism will go mainstream. Unemployed or fearing it, foreclosed or nearing it, pensions lost and savings gone, all sorts of folk who once believed in the system have lost their faith.
Motivated not by worst-case scenario fears but by do-or-die necessity, the new non-believers, unwilling to go under or live on the streets, will devise ingenious stratagems to beat the system, get off the grid (as much as possible), and stay under the radar......

Revelation 6:4 (NIV) Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword.
true but i didn’t hear anything concrete or specific for neo-survivalism did you?

What does Michelle Obama have to do with Revelations?
While this story is based on the effects of a rogue state detonating an EMP device over America, It struck me that an economic collapse could play out similarly.
Cited on the floor of Congress and discussed in the corridors of the Pentagon as a book all Americans should read, One Second After is the story of a scenario that could become all too terrifyingly real. Based upon a real weapon - the Electro Magnetic Pulse (EMP) - which may already be in the hands of our enemies, it is a truly realistic look at the awesome power of a weapon that can destroy the entire United States, literally within one second.
Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth. ;)

thanks!
LMAO..too funny. I was seriously reading one minute..and burst out laughing the next.
I read that in october..the hard cover. I read it after reading a free online book called lights out. Its in PDF form and I think its better than one second after.
http://www.giltweasel.com/stuff/LightsOut-Current.pdf
This stuff scares the daylights out of me. After reading them, I bought a crank radio which I keep in a metal box..lol
Anyway..this lights out isnt written by a professional (I dont think), but the story is outstanding. If you havent read it and you liked one second after..give this a try. Within 5 minutes, you wont be able to stop reading.
I though perhaps it would be a good idea to keep some extra electronic component parts for my vehicles there as well as a couple of transceivers.
THANKS.
My family thinks I am nuts. I have 3 married children. When I talk about this they look at me like I have two heards. Matter of fact, my daughter in law bought me one second after for my birthday. She had to order it in the bookstore, as they had none left.
My son has a second home in the mountains. I told him..if anything ever happens, expect me there..even if I have to walk.
I read a lot of real info on electro magnetic pulse. Both of these books have only very old cars working. What I read was that they arent sure about the cars. Its possible that more may work that they originally thought. I believe they said they cant make tests accurate enough to be able to tell.
What we probably should get is a generator..I read somewhere that if you remove certain parts (dont ask me what, since I am female) that those would still work. They suggested removing them..and replacing them when you need to use the generator.
Heheh..do I sound like I am losing it? People..read both of the books. If they dont scare you witless..nothing will.
I use www.audible.com and listen during a drive and etc.

I did some research on the subject as well and I believe you are right about many vehicles surviving. Also, anything (i.e. generator) stored inside a metal building or storage shed should be okay.
One thing that bothers me though is the possibility that the real effects may not be made public and could be worse than what is being reported on the net.
Two thing that struck me while listening to the book was that an economic collapse may be as bad. It made me realize what these saboteurs in Washington could be doing to us as a country.
I dont think it would be as bad. I would hope, we would still have lights..lol
As far as EMP attacks..what it affects depends on the size of the pulse, if there are one or more..and how far away from one you happen to be.
Ya know it doesnt take much to panic people. I live in a 10 mile radius of a nuke facility. For 30 years, once a year, they send us a booklet.
Lately, when we worry about these things more..their info is more vague than it was years ago..when they told you they planned on bussing people out, and not to use your car, etc. The funny thing is..there were points in time, these books were telling you of busses that no longer exist. And how can they bus children from schools (they said not to pic them up) if 3 public schools and one catholic school all use the same busses at different time?
My town is rural. It has one two lane winding roads..with not even places to pull over. A good portion of these people originated in the Bronx. I always said..forget the busses..these people will clog the roads with cars..and forget them not going to the schools..and heaven forbid, one of these cars gets stuck on the road out..those with the biggest guns will win.
I spent a lot of years thinking about that. But even that didnt scare me the way this EMP thing does.
Our power comes from a coal plant and the coal is shipped from over 1,000 miles away. We're talking a few days supply on hand vs year or two operation for a nuke plant.
Anyway, I'm not sure I'd want to advertise my condition by lighting up the place with lots of crazed skinnies running around looking for something/someone to eat. lol
I wont be here. I will be hiking to the catskills..lol..and probably drop dead along the way. The furthest I ever walk is to the car..lol
