I study herbs as a hobby, at least reading about them, and there are lots of unregulated plants that have mind altering properties. Some are more dangerous or just as intoxicating as the illegal drugs. Spice is supposed to be a cannabis substitute and the Salvia is supposed to be slightly mind altering. I guess the guys will have to settle for tobacco if they want to smoke anything.

Salvia. Isn’t that the common plant that teenagers are smoking to get high?

“Jeez, back to Jimsonweed...”

The image of armed Marines on Jimsonweed is actually kind of frightening.

Salvia is the Spanish word for sage. Sage is a spice used in cooking.

SALVIA DIVINORUM, is a 100% natural drug that shamans in Mexico used to induce visions. It causes a 5-15 minute high and a 30-60 minute “drop-off” You only need one toke which you need to hold in for about 20 seconds. Every trip is different some might have you talking to ice cream cones and others you might talk to god or see all different kinds of stuff. You need a sitter (a friend to keep you out of trouble) because you won’t be able to control yourself for the peak of the high as it is like an out of body expierience.

To those that are unfamiliar, “Spice” is the free market’s answer to the failed war on drugs. It is a striking blow to the very concept of a “war on plants” and I predicted this would happen years ago.

It is an essentially unknown mixture of plants and sometimes synthetic chemicals sold as incense, spice or potpourri. The manufacturers mask what is in the Spice to prevent governments from outlawing the active ingredient(s). The ingredients constantly vary and change.

There are thousands of undiscovered psychotropic compounds that exist in plants. I personally know a chemist that has synthesized at least 400. There are a potentially infinite number of synthetic compounds.

So what we have now is people smoking/eating unknown and unproven compounds because they are legal until discovered. Many of the chemicals are highly addictive and can cause overdosing (unlike cannabis). A doctor friend in the UK told me there have been more incidences of “designer MJ” emergencies and deaths at his hospital in the past year than people harmed by natural cannabis during the hospital’s entire history. They are using unknown drugs because cannabis is illegal.

Thanks WOD

If Peter Jackson(LOTR) does it, in 3 or 4 parts, it might be good. Interesting material, but I don’t have much good to say about the movie directed by David Lynch.

but it is a particu;lar species. It is the not the sage you use for cooking or the white sage used in certain cermonies. This is kind of like going out and purposefully looking for psilocybin
