Sen. Christopher J. Dodd (Conn.), a leading Democrat whose political star fell along with the nation's economy, is expected to announce Wednesday that he has decided against running for reelection this November, according to sources briefed on the decision. Dodd, in his fifth term, chairs the Senate Banking Committee. His retirement would be the second such announcement by a Senate Democrat in 24 hours; North Dakota's Byron Dorgan said Tuesday that he would not run this fall.

They're getting cushy jobs in the O Administration.

I wonder if they are planning this...new faces harder for Repubs to beat.

Barney needs to go!

I said that above, too - make me wonder about Bank of America/ML since they bought out Countrywide and both these Senators are connected to the mortgage scandel.

And didn’t Whitney lower her rating on BOA/ML today?

I don’t trust the Dems...something is up...

this guy epitomizes the limousine liberal, and to boot he’s a real asshole. i stood in line behind him to go see blackhawk down back in 2001 in alexandria and noticed that he avoided eye contact with everyone, especially me. had that holier than thou sneer on his face the whole time. what a complete tool. i regret not being able to see him lose a race in his state that’s about the size of boone pickens’ oil, i mean, cattle ranch.

They damn well better. Busting up that bullet proof senate is one of the bigger issues they have going for them.

In addition, Republican challengers will have to run on conservative issues because the fate of this nation depends on fiscal conservatism. NO MORE SPENDING, NO MORE BAILOUTS and NO MORE PORK.

They’ll win if they stick to that message and mean it!

More DemonRats jumping ship after passing the biggest travesty in history. Bonus: there won’t be a private sector left for them to jump to. If I were king, they’d all be heading for the graybar hotel—including the Republicans, they clearly didn’t do enough to stop this travesty.

Wish he’d take Senator Frank with him.

Please. Barney does enough damage without promoting him to Senator. Or did you mean Franken?

Again, what does he care? He will take his millions and in 1-3 years, become a respected mouthpiece for the progressive movement and make even more $$$.

That’s the way politics works these days, my friends...

It will up to the Republican challengers to hammer home that ALL DEMOCRATS ARE LIBERAL and that Obama's 60 vote senate has to dismantled.

#31 money statement...

If the Pubs are smart they will run against Obiecare, Crap&Trade, Dingy Harry and Stretch Pelosi.
Has Blumenthal taken a public position on these issues? Seems like state AGs are now lining up to challenge Obiecare.

That’s 4 Dems today who say they are retiring.

Why? Is it because they see the Tsunami in November coming?

Or do they know something concerning Obama’s civilian army coming down the pike and they want to get the hell out of Dodge so they don’t get blamed? With blame comes payback

I agree. I think the GOP was going to take this seat if they ran against Dodd. Now I don’t know what is going to happen.

We need to try to help that Scott Brown fellow in Massachusetts. I heard him on Hannity on the radio tonight and I liked him. LT Col or Col in Army Reserve, business owner and a serious sort of fellow. I liked him a lot.

His race is January 19th in MA. Hannity and Malkin are helping and hopefully Rush, Levin, Savage and others will have him on.

The GOp needs to help too. They wasted a million on RINO Newt’s pal fat Dede in NY-23.

If they're lucky that's all it will be.
