at least they were more on the ball than the debacle in Dallas were they checkpoint was left unattended for 90 minutes..
Maybe it's just me, but I find Logan and LaGuardia to be a step above Liberty.
TSA agents will be too busy to screen anybody cause they are on a coffee break.
Never been through LaGuardia, but used to go through Logan, before 9/11....

Yep. I got on a plane for the final time of my life in February 2001.
I've been on one *chartered* round trip flight since 9/11. It was a have to. I'm not planning on another one.
Last time there was April, 2009. US Airways, and it wasn't as bad as I remember flying Delta through there in the '80s.
No, I think the ur-Newark is the only one with an international airport. Not that you’d want to go to the others for any reason anyway.
All the peanuts you could eat, a meal on every flight, refills on full sized soft drinks, free movies, attentive stewardesses (yes, I said stewardesses) who would fluff your pillow and bring hot rags for your morning wake up. And that was in coach.

You remind me of my aunt (now deceased). She never traveled casually dressed — always a smart looking suit, dress shoes, a hat and gloves (white gloves in summer). Once I went to California to visit her; she didn’t say so, but I could tell she did not approve of my jeans t shirt and sneakers.
I remember all that!

The only time I've been out in the city was once on a wild taxi ride between La Guardia and JFK. Kept my eyes shut tight the whole way! Once at JFK, I came through customs with a big bottle of booze in one hand and they just waved me through. I was about 14 and had lost sight of my parents in the crowd. My, how times have changed.
I remember getting “dressed up” to fly as well.
What I remember was how polite and nice the employees were, including the reservation agents and check in folks. There are still good people in the airline industry, but some airlines such as US Airways (known as Useless Air here) have some of the nastiest employees ever. Rude, inconsiderate and condescending. Useless Air was once the prime airline in and out of Pittsburgh; now, it’s a shell of its former self. It’s all the airline’s fault. US Airways drove customers away.
Back away from the Stewards,I was surprised by his phone number on a spiritual trip.Father sat in front of me and asked “Was I suppose to signs something”.No Father he was just trying to pick me up:)
Good thing he took Monday off too or he'd be AWOL.

The original topic had to do with airports today resembling bus stations. I'm old enough to remember when flying was considered special, people might not dress up to the extent your aunt did ... that went back to an earlier era in commercial aviation ... but people from the era I remember did dress up somewhat ... none of the flip flops, shorts and tank top crap you see today in many airports.
There’s a Newark in Michigan and in Missouri as well.
